I'm more into getting maximum fun out of this assortment of components, and I wouldn't drive a Kenworth for fun.

I've been driving manual for decades and I am far from abusive on my shifts. I'll heel-toe because, well, that's fun. If my transmission craps out a few months earlier than its maximum possible lifespan then I'm OK with that.

Besides, there's no shortage of junkyard transmissions for these with ~20k miles on them and not giant pricetags (about the same cost of two sets of aftermarket tail lights). I'm not going to trash my transmission for fun, but if it dies in the course of normal events it's not the end of the world since even swapping a transmission is more fun than double clutching.
