We only use Opti Guard to coat our vehicles. We are an approved dealer for the product. When are you looking at getting it done?

Happy to drive up your way.

Opti Guard has a thicker consistency with a higher concentration of resin. This makes it highly abrasion resistant. It also dries very fast allowing us to complete our work in half a day. It is only for professional application.

Opti Coat is the consumer grade, lower concentration of resin and slower drying.

Have you put your name down on the group buy thread? Perhaps I can travel up there in November and get both done on the same day? Makes it easier for you no doubt.

For the cost of a tube of "Opti-Coat 2.0" you would be better off getting "Opti-Guard (Opti-Coat)" have it professionally applied and it will come with a warranty.

But that is 4 - 5 times the price?

My panel beater has been my best mate for 20+ years, my warranty from him is lifetime
If anything went wrong with the car, into the booth it go's and will get resprayed. and ill get my Matt black 86!

There's a bit of a learning curve to it, and if you stuff it up, you have to polish it off and start again. Don't forget the extremely clean paint needed before coating as well. Experience does certainly count in this circumstance. New cars don't come with perfect paint either, a correction before coating is very highly recommended.

There's other coatings that are a bit easier to use for the inexperienced, such as C.Quartz. It's about $65 for a 30ml kit, and it'll last about 2 years on the paint. There's professional version of this coating that lasts longer as well, but not available to the public.

Plenty of choices out there, you just have to find what you are comfortable with. For what professional detailers charge (cheap IMO) I personally wouldn't stuff around trying to coat your car yourself. I'd get it corrected to perfect, then coated to keep it perfect, then forget about it for years to come....

I woudn't do it myself, i would get my friend to do it, i think we would play around with it first. there are plenty of panels lying around we can test on first, see what works, and if it all went well, i would see him using it himself at his work..
