Another's possibility is Flow Batteries where rather then charging the battery the electrolyte is continually replaced from a tank. This would allow EVs to simply fillup with electrolyte instead of recharging. The downside is the complexity, and likely need to store and recycle the used electrolyte.

charging isn't a big deal, generally no body would use the car until its empty. same with EV. For myself, my daily commute is at most no more than 200KM a day, as long as you remember to charge every night, i'm sure its fine! Like if I drive from home to office, I'll have the car charged while being parked. Just like my Macbook, I hardly use the battery on a daily basis. Once I get home it would be charged and once I'm at the office its being charged.

I will still use a petrol power car for long distance travel and when going to places that I will not be able to charge the car for a long period of time.

I may be a bit bias, as my family's company is one of the suppliers for Tesla and we have recently acquired a battery tech company in development for better li-ion battery and hot-swap standard battery for use in EV cars.

My opinion with electric cars is a good start in todays world, but believe we may have taken a step back with them.
The point of driving is to give us the freedom to drive anywhere we want, or need to go (with the exception of land of course).
With electric cars, we can only go so far, and have to stop and wait for hours. Kind of like when we are little kids and have to be home by a certain time. Gasoline vehicles is just us growing up and not having that curfew.
Now I'm not saying that maybe someday, we may be able to stop and recharge our batteries (or never have to recharge them) quicker then gas. But we have had electric and hybrid cars for quite some time now, and haven't made a very large progress in my eyes.

I am just honesty happy that electric cars are here tho. They are opening up huge doors for what is possible. From hybrid, hydrogen, electric, to ethanol. Anything seems possible, and the car world is expanding.
