i thought the main reason for stabalizer was for your gas to not convert to water. but if you putting in straight test with no ethonol/alcohol. you get no alcohol conversion to alcohol? right? and it you top it up.....little conversion can happen.....right...times a tickings guys

That is one reason yes but the additives do help the fuel stay well...stable.

I never did anything to my Subaru for the 5 years of owning it when i stored it and never had issues...however, since i bought this car brand new and plan to keep it for a long time, i will do it the proper way.

However, my garage is heated, so I'll probably do like an oil change in mid winter.

I just feel weird putting in new oil in November and then using that same oil in the spring. Some people put in new oil again in the spring but that seems like a waste.

So yeah, and this way I feel like I'm doing something to my car during the winter haha...maybe I'll install a header while I'm down there

Ill probably leave the oil that's in the car (Amsoil SS 0W20) since it only has around 3000km on it and just swap it out in the winter. I might put some old shelving under the wheels as well to keep them from getting flat spots. Thanks for the tips folks!

Let's see....Winter prep: Jack up car, put it on jack stands. Take off summer OEM wheels and tires. Pull 205/50-16 Bridgestone Blizzak WS-70's out of basement and put on the car. Lower car to ground. Voila!@

Prepared for winter.

If storing on jack stand place them so they support the suspension not the body of the car. You can get all sorts of wonky suspension issues if you leave it drooping for extended periods.

I know you were talking just changing the wheels but some dude will want to store on stands for sure.
