I've been following this kit since there were pictures on instagram hah.

Its definitely the kit I want and hope to have in the future however I'm still unsure of the long term reliability of this platform even in NA form, I guess I'd like to see more data points :P

Here's our (very skewed and limited) data.

We've yet to pop a JRSC motor. We popped way, way too many NA motors on the factory tune.

But it's also 50 hp vs the 70hp+ of the edelbrock, and there well known edelbrock build quality, customer service and warranty , a lot of research needs to be done to figure out what you want from the car
I bought my Sprintex/Innovate 210 supercharger used almost exactly 2 years ago today for $2k. Month's later I got a new intercooler for $1k and a 70mm pulley for $60. +80whp, not bad for $3k. I am happy with the car.

There are used kits out there (one or two in my area I think), so if money is tight, perhaps used is an option for you. I posted some videos to my build thread and my youtube channel if you'd like to see it in action.

I'm considering going with the larger sprintex 335 sps blower to get over the point I'm capped at now, but I'd also need a clutch, fuel pump, and injectors, but that adds a lot to the cost so I'll probably stick where I'm at for a while since I'm still paying off the car. Although 330whp would be nice. I could also throw an e85 kit on it for about 20-30whp more, but then there's the hassle of getting e85 as there's only maybe one gas station with it. There used to be a handful, but now only one or two.

Of course I always want to do even more to the car. I've also considered selling the Sprintex and getting the Edlebrock instead as the intercooler design is a little better, or even the Cosworth. That would be a lot of work for little gain however.

Never stop modding!

We usually see these FA20 engines run solid to about 350whp (Dyno Jet Numbers). If you run much above that then expect the rods to start breaking. If you plan to add in a Flex Fuel Kit on the pulley supplied by Edelbrock that will place you around 330whp. We would suggest building your engine at this point if you want to go any further.

What was to blame in the NA cases or was the failure not repeatable.

Thanks for that.

Any idea where the gearbox limit might be for track use ?
I thought around 330-350hp at the crank ?

I know some use 600whp on stock street driven gearbox just fine. But I mean, what's the limit on a smoothly professionally driven gearbox at the track ?

The stock transmission (manual that is) is good to about 400whp when driven for fun on the track. Expect to wear it out a lot faster due to the increased loads but it does hold up for a while. But at 600whp we have had a few customers break them within a month or less of dragging them.

The stock transmission is quite strong for what it is but it will break with a fair amount more power and torque.

Has anyone done an e85 tune with one of these yet? Compared to the innovate sc, this looks a lot easier to install because of the clearance on top of the block.

for the price of the edelbrock kit and the amount of power you get i think there's a lot of other options that are better than the edelbrock... 5.5k for 75hp vs other superchargers or even turbo kits that you can get for that or a little bit more i think there's just better options. just my 2 cents.

I don't know.... From stock (~165whp on this dyno) to 297whp seems like a decent gain.

If I had to guess it was the early tune revision transient ignition tables and DI seal failure.
