My experience:

After a few years of saving up for a newer car.
It was finally time.
I Browse the interweb each and everyday looking at cars.
I found this beautiful 2009 M3 with 60k miles.
Owner was asking 27k obo.
On the way to his house, i glanced over and saw a white little pony sitting at a Hyundai's car lot.
I went over and tried to tame the pony....
After hours of negotiation, I was able to take her home.
(M3 had a clean title but had 2 accidents, So that was a no go)
.....
8 months later....
Pony was no more.... It had its face cut off by an oncoming car... sad day it was

Head on collision. Other drivers fault. The funny thing is that it doesn't look that bad besides a new bumper. Got a called from insurance, said that car is deemed a total loss. It would take them 15k to fix it.
In the end I got a brz even tho I was planning to buy something else.
Sucks tho haha. The advance keys came from frs but everything else that I listed was from my brz.

There is a thread somewhere that I posted about the situation. Funny thing about me owning is this car is that I never meant to buy a frs or brz. It's like love at first sight. Didn't even do any research on these car.. all that I knew was that it was made by toyota and subaru, so it had to be reliable. I even thought that the brz was AWD lol

I can relate to the feeling! Glad to hear you were able to make it into a BRZ still though.

Had mine off the rev limiter at 50 miles. No reason to wait.

Good to know fact. Maybe they should change the instruction in the manual then. How long have you been an engineer for Subaru anyway?

If you're in the same area in the near future and have any interest in checking out the HKS USA FR-S, let me know.

As much as I scratch my head sometimes with "what the hell were the engineers thinking when they did this?", this is not something that I would question them on.

Funny/embarrasing event #1 of 1000 in new car:
-Pulled up to stoplight
-Guy in a shiny Audi R8 pulls up next to me
-He admires the car gives me the thumbs up
-I smile and return the gesture
-Cloud 9 achieved
-Light turns green and I stall it like a pro
-Guy laughs and coasts off
-Cloud 9 is now somewhere very far away
It's all good though, new clutch to get used to! Plus I plan on removing the pesky clutch spring this weekend anyway.

When I got into the car it had 8 miles on the clock, now it has 66. (Might have taken the long way home....)

Mine:

-Pull out from dealership
-Riced out civic comes buzzing by
-Slows down so I can catch up
-Catches him staring at his rear mirror for a good 10 or 20 seconds
-Me trying to get used to throttle, punches it half way and took off.
-Guess he downshifted and tried to catch up but didn't.
-Eyed him at red light and he looked kinda embarrassed since his gf was in passenger's seat.
