It's heavier, but has twice the rating (which gives a margin of safety and makes it useful for heavier cars in your garage as well) and being steel, will likely hold up better over the long run. I picked one up last week and it's perfect for the Twins.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at this one, but was concerned it might not reach the front jack point. HF also has an extended length low profile jack, but it apparently is not on sale right now.

I assume you mean this one:

http://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-l...ump-68050.html

I went in to buy that extended low profile 2-ton jack, but couldn't resist the sale price of the 3-ton non-extended version. It has no problems whatsoever reaching the front and rear jack points of my stock-ride-height FR-S. I imagine there would still be no problem even if the car rode 2 inches or so lower.

Thanks for the pic! You solved a 40-year mystery for me: I always wondered what those square holes in the rocker panels of Beetles were for...

Ultra and I have been in trouble for that many times. There isn't much scarier then the sound of those feet hitting the bedroom floor at 2am because your laughter woke them up.

My wife thought I was having some late night, weekend, long distance affair for weeks back in the "Show me your RPMs" and "What will Squady do next" days.
