The throttle still seems to work as normal when the engine is running, so I guess I should just assume its ok... but it really doesn't sound healthy when its not running and there's this constant buzzing lol

Yup, as soon as you turn the ignition to "on", the throttle body motor is activated to position the tb at the correct position for starting the car. It is super loud. Another dead giveaway is that you can push the throttle pedal with the car in "on" and you'll hear the sound change as the motor moves the throttle around. I noticed that the Honda K20 TB is a lot quieter than the Subaru TB, same manufacturer, similar sound, just quieter. Also, you'll notice that when you turn the car off, it'll make a bunch of sounds from the throttle body as a part of the ECU shutdown sequence is to run the TB all the way open then closed. I'm guessing it's some sort of emissions thing to flush air through the motor.

Does the steering lock motor not unlock the steering when ignition is "ON". That motor can be quite loud.

Huh, I had always meant to ask about the buzzing. Glad I spotted this thread. I always thought it was the AC or the radio, but I'd keep them both completely off and still heard the buzzing. I think it's most noticeable when you go to turn the car off, that's when I always hear it.

Are you sure this isn't the steering lock motor you are hearing?
