Very interesting to see an LS swapped twin at my local track because now I have a direct basis for comparison. It looks like it's quite a handful now. It looks like it really pushes on entry and then the rear wants to come around on power. Guessing you're still getting used to it in a high performance setting?

It's a very difficult car to control. I have no front sway bar, no ABS, no brake stability, stock suspension and stockish (225) width tires. Also in the video I had a not so light passenger as well. It is a very fun car, very fun! but no where near as controllable as a stock 86. People make fun of how little power a stock FRS has but if they sold them with the power mine has, people would be in danger (insert mustang joke).

Without ABS and brake stability, combined with the the increase in speed on straights I've lost my braking confidence and I brake very early. I'm very fearful of locking the brakes. With front sway bar missing (clearance issue) the car wants to over-steer very easily even without throttle. And of course there is the added power which makes throttle control on corners much much more difficult.

I was a massive 2 seconds faster than my own best in a stock FRS. Disappointing? of course a bit but I drove my stock FRS at 100% and was passing other 86 that had minor performance mods. With my V8 I struggled. There are a lot of things I could do to improve this car but they all cost $$$. I already need a new transmission and radiator for next year. I will probably try to get better tires as well but that's about all I can afford to do. Stock suspension stays, couldn't figure out how to get ABS to turn on, and no solution for sway bar yet.

Despite all the little annoyances when I drive a stock 86 I just want back in my V8.

Way more fun with big power...even if it's a wild ride, I get it!

Adding that much power and torque without adding balancing grip seems kind of nutty.....yah expect slower lap times over OEM....it must be a complete bear to drive it that way on a road course.....over powered for traction and unbalanced with sway bar in rear and sway bar removed in front....remove the rear sway if the fronts removed ....are you on those prias stock rubber?.....good lord man......seems like your having fun though ....I'm assuming no alignment adjustments or anything....

I was faster just not by much, all from straights. The video I posted was with Stock Prius front tires and some old/used/over-inflated NT01s in the rear. Your assumptions are correct, no alignment adjustments or anything. Budget swap!

LOL I hear you, there's a lot we take for granted in a stock or lightly modified twin such as the fact that everything works as intended and the inherent balance of everything. You've made a lot of compromises to have that V8 torque. They aren't compromises I'd be willing to make but maybe I just don't know what I'm missing

FWIW Those compromises should be short lived. CAN system has been finished for some of the LS ECUs and the others are almost finished. Vorshlag is also working on the sway bar issue. Hopefully they will release that soon as well.

Wheels are expensive, and I like how my car looks exactly like a stock FRS. Even kept the stock shifter handle and knob.

Crashing is more expensive D:

I do see the appeal in keeping the wheels looking stock though, sleeper look

Look to Vorschlag new V8 converted Beta build, they seem to think this car is more than worthy for track work on an extreme scale, their next build will be north of 500whp with more than enough experience to make the car balanced , put that kind of power to the ground, corner like it's on rails, and also civil enough to make it a daily driver......I'm looking forward to the work they are about to do to adapt to my alpha build which even without sway bars handles extremely well, I got grip with decent tires sized accordingly and a track orientated alignment.....it makes a huge difference....
