Also, upon fitting the cold air pipe, it seems that it won't line up with the mounting point at the back of the IC core. There doesn't seem to be any room to push it down for the hole to line up, as it'd hit the intake runners. The short end of the 90° is connected down at the throttle body. Could this fastener have been welded on too high?
The GDI driver box also seems to be twisted out away from the engine at the top end by the supplied spacer (20045323); it still bolts up, but seems to be under more stress than it really should be. Any thoughts?
I think you may have the elbow on the wrong way round? as there's a short leg and a long leg. you need to have the short leg onto the throttle body

I took a plastic funnel and a heat gun and warmed my air filter box and pressed the funnel down into the opening to round it back out. Then be sure to reattach the clamp just so it's snug but not tight.
I've attached a few pics. The roundness still looks ok. There might be sealing issues with the way the factory airbox connection has a discontinuous lip around the perimeter. That combined with the short coupler hose and slightly misaligned connection makes for a sketchy fit. I could see from earlier pics that I had the hose clamp right on top of that lip, if not a little to the wrong side of it. I ordered the 6" coupler (below) so I can comfortably position the clamp behind that lip instead of on top of it.

Also, I'm going to use less torque when reinstalling the factory airbox bolts as they have a bushing and over-tightening limits their effectiveness. The airbox needs to be able to vibrate with the engine some to reduce the stress on the airbox coupler connection.

Anyone know if there is a warranty on the exhaust? I just noticed that one of my exhaust tips has a small crack in it. Take it up with Nameless or Cosworth? Can you repair stainless?

For anyone running the Cosworth exhaust, I would recommend cleaning the tips regularly with chrome polish to keep any surface rust off of them. Left unchecked, the rust will eat through the tips.

As for the supercharger, still working good. Very smooth and solid feeling.

My stage 2 kit didn't come with a thermostat, and I bought a different exhaust kit, so I didn't get it there either. What would you guys suggest I get that would be equivalent to the one that's supposed to be installed with this kit?

If you don't plan to track your car, you will fine without the thermostat. If you MUST have one, you could find a Cosworth or Mishimoto. I believe those are the only ones available.

I would recommend putting in the thermostat. You may get spark knock without it.

It Runs!!!

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1miPs-_M2OE[/ame]

It runs!!! Finally got things together to the point where it runs! Still need to order/install the correct thermostat, but that should be easy enough once it's here.

When initially trying to fill the coolant reservoir, hardly any would actually flow in, and I had to pull the reservoir up a couple of inches so that the fluid could get past whatever high point was preventing it from getting to the pump. Also, the throttle body seemed to be making a weird sound while the car was powered on, but not running.

Now to figure out what the check engine light is complaining about >_<

Squeezing the hoses helped out a lot with the initial fill and bleed.

That's strange about the throttle body, not sure it's concerning though.

Please update us about your car because you are another person that I know that has a 2017+. Are you running stock exhaust?

Thanks!

Nope, I installed https://www.ft86speedfactory.com/spe...rage-1400.html a few months ago. I know the UEL header will sacrifice a few hp compared to an equal-length header, but it sounds awesome and adds a bit more of that Subie feel to it, I feel.

P0102: Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
P0108: Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

It was my understanding that the 2017+ manuals had a different filter which was supposed to be a higher-flowing one, though I was still planning on getting one of these before driving the car around: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/blit...17-brz-86.html
Seems it's time to go around and check for air leaks and re-triple-check that all the cables are fully connected.

Should this one perform similar to the Cosworth thermostat? It looks like they both open at 76C. http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/mish...stat-1025.html

Great, will try the cat-back first and if it doesn't work then go for header. Still waiting for my cat-back to arrive.

Thanks!
