Gruppe M / Revolution garage intake

I am speechless that this intake is in my hands only true ram air design for frs/brz platform. Crappy cellphone photos do not do justice for this piece.. Can't wait till I install it! I will be doing a before/after dyno. This intake is more about keeping the horsepower under high stress conditions (according to some Japanese reviews, every 1 degrees Celsius you lose 0.7hp), but just want to see if it actually makes any difference. stay tuned.

Do you have any pictures of the inside of the air box? Does the area where the MAF mounts have a radiused outlet? Velocity stack? thanks.

Are you doing tuned before and after or untuned on both? I've been wondering about this intake. It's about time someone got one!

I would love to see a log of the maf voltage before and after. I'm curious how much different it is as the oem is right after a bend.

No. That Greddy scoop retains the original airbox and thus the 90 degree bend downstream. Look carefully and observe the difference.

He said true ram style and he was correct. Straight shot from airbox to throttle body.

They both(and even the stock snorkel) take air from the high pressure area directly in front of the radiator. If you were to take a pressure reading from directly in front of the MAF you probably wouldn't see any difference between the three.

Yes. They do. I wasn't even addressing that. But the others have multiple 90 degree bends. The thing that distinguishes this intake is the geometry down stream of the filter, not the place where it picks up air. This one is a straight shot from filter to throttle body.

By the way you would absolutely see a pressure drop equal to at least the filter differential pressure in any intake. And then after that every bend in the pipe further reduces airflow.

Velocity matters as much as pressure when determining flow.

I'm not saying this means automatic power gains as there are more factors that go into it (resonance for instance) but this has the potential to be a better design for several reasons.

I was actually talking about the difference in pressure between the three measured at the same spot. I realize the air filter will cause a pressure drop. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Coswioth determined the stock intake tract would support 300 HP with a drop-in filter, but I can't find it now.
I also wonder about putting the air box behind the radiator where it would have warm air constantly blowing across it. I realize CF is a good insulator, but I wonder if it's enough to negate this? Oh well, time(and the dyno) will tell, I suppose.
