Mods = $4879

insurance claim deductible - $200
insurance - approx $1800
Gas - 1733 gallons - approx $5500
Expenses = $7500

mods and expenses= $12,379

Car payments = $18,000

Grand total = $30,379


The costing on my Honda ridgeline is crazy. I bought it new and have owned it for 10 years. I have 7 years of payments, interest, 10 sets of tires, 157,000 miles at 17mpg, maintenance, insurance, and a few mods. Averages approx $750 per month (for ten years) or $90,000.

Seeing how much people have spent is making me want to wait for a while to do more costly mods... well except for a new exhaust. Probably until the car is paid off in full.

Then again, I don't plan on going FI. That'll save a few grand.

I told myself to only get wheels, exhaust, and springs when I bought the car. then slowly work on it over time.

turns out I can't control myself and spent over $4000 in the first 2 months of owning it. I'm forcing myself to stop right now. no more buying parts besides maintenance

Wheels aren't here yet so I'll only count $4,130 but I'm a bit worried I'll pass 10k too soon once I consider FBO or a supercharger... but honestly the drop/wheels are great starting mods then the catback is a start to enjoying the rpm range. I don't worry about the small ticket items but the 4 figure purchases add up. I could be FI by now but it'd be stock looking.
