why did you have to make me think of this OP? just damn.

Greddy Cat back
Perrin light weight alt and water pump pulleys
FST light weight crank pulley
18x8.5 57xtremes
Yokohama Advans for the tires
OEM rear diffuser
STI body kit
and I'm doing everything in my power to resist the urge to boost my car and all the goodies that go with it. maybe if work was busier and I spent less time messing around on here this wouldn't be on my mind so much.

I was about $55k CAD including the cost of the car in when I sold it two months ago. Sold for $26500 and sold a few parts for about $4k so just over $30k total back.

Why?

Why should the amount of money we spend on our passion, turning the car into a unique spectacle of our personality, be scrutinised?

I know people that would rather spend their hard-earned money on drugs rather than cars. And what do they have to show for it? Usually some form of health disorder

I am not saying not to spend it, I am saying I find a lot of people buy a car, it isn't what they expect, and they try to make up for it by modding it, but never really fell in love. I know it happened to me with my BRZ, and I lost a lot of money on it. The world would be a much better place if people spent all their money on vehicles than drugs, and I too know a lot of people that spend all their money on drugs and partying.

Make damn sure you know what you want and what to expect before you spend your money.

I'm afraid to total it up, because then I'll be like, "oh, I could've bought a supercharger/turbo/etc for all that instead."

D'oh.

Haha! I am up there with you too. I spend about 17k already (and I am in canada so it was more) but that is everything including buying 10 tires and a full 3M wrap and spend about 2k tuning and retuning, among many many other things.

Edit: Not including any install

more on the mild side with about 1.5k. serious considerations to spend more but im not up for losing a ton on the car if gets crumpled up. next chunk change im gonna blow on more ink

EDIT-after looking around at all the little bits of cosmetic stuff its more like 2k. and throw another another grand on that, im itching to get some pipes to enhance the tune.

Makes me nauseous just thinking about it lol. I have build sheets that I need to update. But including the cost of the car (which is paid off) and including labor for 2 built blocks, head gasket reapir, turbo install just to name a few and parts that I've bought and either sold or still have and several dyno tunes. I'm over 70k.
