Same here... but there's no beam/wall surrounding them. & Eva came out '96 & not 2000.

If it's stuck in time, or time barrier than another one could be Rahxephon as well. iirc Rahxephon came our early 2000 ('02?)

FYI Rahxephon is very good series... I love it... but it's slow series. Nothing really happens, other than beginning and the end. Even ending doesn't make really sense. BUT I still love the animation, VA and OST.

A lot of ppl complain that, it's copy of Eva... but IDK

Any of those anime's have to do with a post apocalyptic technological world? From what I remember from the early 2000's snippet:

A boy lives in the outskirts of a city (Tokyo?) that is sealed of/stuck in time and there is this energy beam/wall that surrounds it. Suddenly as he is checking it out, robots begin fighting and the military/police appear.

I can't remember if the town in the bubble is stuck in old time or if the world outside is. Damn, my neurons are overworking right now. I was like 15 when I saw this.
Also adding on to what everyone else suggested, Texhnolyze.

It damn confusing at first but picks up toward the middle. Not what you described but it fits into what you want.. more or less.

Ergo Proxy started out so strong and awesome... but in the middle, several episodes were like "WTF happened?!?!?!" BUT they did go back strong ending.

Whoa, no activity in here for a few days and then explosion. I feel bad responding this so late (in terms of responses). You always use the Japanese names so I'm never sure if I've seen the ones you've listed haha. Google tells me I don't know any of them though.

I watched the first season of Psycho-Pass and read that the second season wasn't nearly as good/worth it. Did you enjoy it?

Yeah seriously, I think everyone is itching for summer to drive their cars. lol

As for Psycho-Pass, it was good... but I can't really remember good enough to say it was amazing.

K, you gotta give me more detail info. Without it, can't help much. Like more detail plot, some chara name and so on.

LOVE Dual, it's one of my fav from Studio AIC made. Love Tenchi Muyo series, Ah Megami-sama (Ah my goddess) and countless awesome series.

I thought bout it... but it's a bit different. Specially it's not really his type of anime he would watch (my guess from the list he made).

As for that Eva Racing, that's from actual eva racing team in Japan. They race in JGTC and Moto JGP.

Love their race queens

Yep, I know. That's why I'm excited to get a little bit of their livery on my 86

How is Gate? I was debating about watching it cause it does have a season 2 so I figured it was good since it is on its second season and what about Dimension W is it good? I was going to download the show but I guess I forgot to add that to the list of things to watch.

I was watching durarara and got into 11 episodes of the first season but forgot to keep on watching it.

Does everyone here watch anime on crunchyroll or do they download all their stuff?
