Fenrir,
Sorry to here of your troubles but couldn't help but notice something you typed in your original post "I don't believe in AC"? What does this mean?

Yup. I almost never run the AC in my cars. I make exceptions for defoggers and other extreme circumstances, but if it's not raining my windows are down

Move to Texas, you'll be using A/C like the rest of us in no time.

Ok, I guess you must know since being a stranger on the Internet you know everything about me right? But really, I don't run AC in my cars. It gets just as hot here as it does there

Anyway, on topic I got my front bumper replaced today. Brand new factory painted from Japan. Fits now. Finally can wash my hands of this dealer.

Lol If you don't want people talking about your quirky A/C rules don't mention them in the first place.

Anyway, glad you got that sorted out. Like another poster said, warranty service usually sucks except I've had good experience with BMW. Maybe you do get what you pay for.

People can talk about the quirky AC rules all they want, I just don't like the arrogance that they think they know how I would act in a given situation

And since I missed the comment by Zoomie, I don't run AC because it saps power and puts necessary strain on the motor. Plus I'm not [russianaccent]Little Girl[/russianaccent] when it comes to the heat.

When I was originally talking with the engineers from Subaru, he was going to only get a primer'd front bumper and have the dealer paint it, but I said nay nay. Factory painted or I'd just keep what I have. As far as I can tell, the color matches pretty exactly, but it's been cloudy out since it was replaced to hard to tell for certain.

I'm pretty happy with the outcome, just not the journey getting there. At least I can wash my hands of this dealer and find a new place to take it to. As if adding insult to injury, they "washed" my car after the install. I had a small bird poop spot on the window from the drive in that morning... wasn't even cleaned off. It's like they didn't even try, they just poured water on the car and half-dried it off. Urg.

Got a second tow-hook cover too, so I can drill one for my towplate! I'll upload pics in a bit here of the crate the bumper came in, cause it was kinda cool. Oh, and I'm not supposed to talk about this (the rep made it clear that this was mostly a one-off case, they wouldn't be replacing bumpers for everyone), so shhhh!

EDIT: here's the pic

So if other people have bumper fitment problems they won't be replacing them...? Or more along the lines of "not everyone has this problem so we're not trying to replace bumpers for free"?
