I'd rather it flex than shatter!

I can take off the front bumper of this car in about 15-20 minutes with access to a lift or a high enough jack.

I can do the same for about 99% of the cars out on the market.

Flimsy? Yes, but so are many other cars.

1. paints are water based now a days for the environment they don't hold up as well -it's a tradeoff.
2. your best protection again chips is to increase the distance between you and the car ahead of you and steer clear of 4X4s dump trucks (and the best one!) get Paint Protection Film!
3. all cars flex easily because the plastic they use is a urethane on the bumpers to absorb energy when you hit something (or someone).
4. all <normal> cars are easy to dent because they have to use thinner sheet metal to improve gas mileage -it's a tradeoff. Normal as Camrys, Accords and below -not LFA, Corvette, etc.

I stopped giving a crap about the chips on the bumper. After the first one came from driving behind a Corvette, I said fuck it and didn't give two shits since.

After the 4th chip, I haven't seen one since (about 3 weeks ago, interestingly).

That being said, my car isn't a show car so I count the chips as battle scars lol
