After sending in the first datalog the next revision resulted in 9 peak HP gain (and 20+ in some areas) over the first revision. It also broke the 200 HP mark. We've still got some more tweaking to do, otherwise I'd post a copy of the virtualdyno (and head to the real dyno for confirmation), but as of now the torque dip is more or less nonexistent on my car.

The thought of this header + E85 just made my pants get tight for some reason.
I also got FA20Club E85 tune.
I'm a happy customer

Better idea, just give me the header and I'll live with it while the smarter engineers figure it out. I'm sure I can still have fun with it!

That dip doesnt really translate on the street. Most people wont make a pull from 2500 in any gear to see how it feels, it will be at 3200-3400 and its already past that point.

To play devil's advocate, 90% of the time I encounter the stock dip by coming up from lower in the rpm band when accelerating up a hill in a lower gear. When I start to lose power as the rev's climb, I'm forced to unnaturally shift gears early.

I agree with you however this dip is ALOT lower down than the stock dip. Stock the dip runs from 3200 to about 4500 before it starts to increase.

The dip for these headers is only 250 to 500 rpm wide so anything less than 6th should see you out of it in a pretty timely fashion.

My BIGGEST problem with this car is when i want to go just a LITTLE bit faster i always run into the dip. So you either have to drive the pants off it between 4500 and 6000 or short shift at 3200 to keep some torques. I just hate the feeling of starting to get going and then falling FLAT on its face for what seems like ages.

To summarize i agree with you however i think the dip is short enough now that it will be a much smaller hurdle to jump.

Yeah, but you will beat yourself around the bush when the final product produces +40whp/tq.

Also playing devil's advocate I encounter pulls from 2500 rpm all the time in second gear coming off a corner. If I'm not hauling ass around the corner I'll be at or below 2500 rpm and I like to pull hard off of corners because it's fun. Or if I'm following someone that takes their time pulling into a driveway or gas station and I end up accelerating from 10 or 15 kph. It's been stated elsewhere that you don't feel trapped in it because it probably doesn't last long but not having it there feels better.

I really appreciate the work you're doing here and I'm not trying to discount it and agree that for most people the dip being pushed lower probably doesn't matter but I don't know that it's right to generalize and say no one is going to pull through that range.

That being said, even with that smaller dip present and if it doesn't get tuned out I still plan on jumping on board once I have the funds available. Nice work.

I think the product is fine. It's the computer that is throwing a fit.

The other thing about the dip is the "regression" between pulls feels more like how the car actually runs which reduces the dip even more (talking about the new header as well). On the street it pulls clean because its a 250 rpm gap and losing 17 ft lbs is honestly bare noticable. Knock on wood the rest of that will go away between more tuning and the intake manifold.

I've been following these forums for well over a year, but joined as a result of this thread. I'm impressed with the engineering effort Nameless has put into their products and looking forward to the final solutions for the 86 platform.

I'd be interested in a full system with increased mid-range power (street car only), that has a nice tone without being obnoxious to people outside the car and not droning to those inside.

I think Nameless is the company to develop that package.
