Ok my 20 seconds on the clock attempt sucked.

We would beat the snot out of it here. Paint would help. Depending on bonding and hanger design we could hit greater than one race season. If we weld and the parts had fatigue failure we would do free repairs within a term.

I just want to test one and see how it does. Depending on grade of aluminum we could feasibly make it last a while. Considerations for corrosive environments would have to be made.

Ok so the good news is I got all pissy and railed on overseas manufacturing yesterday in one of the other forum posts, meaning I've been pretty active on here and my brain has been stirring about new product development for the BRZ. We're also getting our plate cleaned off a bit more and have had some specific modification requests to our existing designs for the AxleBack so I'm working on gathering some data for some options on those (high temp powdercoated blacked out axleback, muffled or helmholtz resonated track axleback and a quieter 'gentleman's axleback'). John has been thinking up some interesting ideas for headers and I drove the car again yesterday (yay, we're up to 692mi on our FRS!). So we're ramping back up to attack the development again on the 86 platform.

We also have our next order of chassis brace mounting lugs coming off the CNC lathe tomorrow so we will be able to tear into the front and rear strut bar and fender brace designs very soon. And our rally team finally went home to Melbourne (until they return to run mad as a cut snake at Olympus in September).

Also thinking about doing a discounted group buy for the Axleback. Is this something you think people would bite on? The alternative is to do free shipping or discount powdercoat or discount option set of some sort (see above concepts) on the AxleBack. We'd like to get our process sped up a bit and running a few larger quantities always helps us to dial in our processes. It's good value for us, and would help us to get some more traction here on the forum. Thoughts?

Jason
Damn. Already bought one.

Make me an aluminum single exhaust and I will sign what ever saying it will break. Nice big 4 inch muffler with a nice angle to it aka HKS HiPower.

Yeah, I try to keep a sense of humor where I can. It helps break up the nerdy explanations

You already know mine, but for others, I want the cabin to be quiet. If flow isn't affected I'm fine with the outside being quiet too but that's not my primary goal

And yes.. black powdercoating, otherwise I'd be sanding and BBQ painting.

I hate you.

If you can do that and have it be quiet in the cabin and not completely crazy outside ignore everything we talked about on the phone earlier.

Although maybe not, if I end up with a snail anyways.. hmm.

I did know what I wanted before you felt like posting more :P trade in program? lol

I just got the frequency data to work on helmholtz muffler delete single exit. We are also doing a dual exit muffler delete for frequency testing and then testing a dual helmholtz in that. Finally we will be taking the quietest of the two muffler setups and testing helmholtz systems on top of that. We will get some options for everyone out of this run of development. Helps that our standard muffler caps are a few days late right now. Gives us at least a day to play.

Header dev will be back on line shortly thereafter. We have had a ton of requests for a full race port-back exhaust (you're gonna love this dimmen) and we plan on taking a crack at a lightweight full v-band port-back system with long tube header and x pipe. Potentially full dual.

Our strut bar will be a full cage style and hit at least six mount points, half notched and welded. Lincoln log style.

I'll also entertain an aluminum exhaust if we can agree that it is a consumable object. Can't very well anodize a whole exhaust. Considering some badass bonding options that will remove heat effected metal fatigue failures. Did a ton of homework on this with the gnarly 7075 skidplates and bonding options.

crap....looks like I'll have to push my firearm project back again...

There are a few options for quiet but still getting good gains. Hoping to see something interesting soon.
