inner tie rods
i could not find any accounts of adding inner tie rods for drift prior to buying my pair so i thought id start a thread for others to see
I felt like my 86 wanted to settle into the drift really close to full lock which meant i didnt have much countersteer to play with and very little room for error which makes drifting let alone learning to drift much harder it also limits how much angle i can play with in drift so i sought to increase steering angle to give myself more countersteer and i added inner tie rods and it worked like a charm! so if youre starting out drifting and frustrated that u keep spinning and u cant countersteer enough to save the drift go get a pair mine r megans and the were 90 bucks as far as instal goes they're fairly simple just google inner tie rod s13 youtube has plenty of tutorials that are very similar to the 86's the only warning is that if ur running bigger tires than the prius plastic the car came with (even if they r stil 215) the tire will rub on the inner wall of the wheel well and the sway bar a little so u will also need spacers i am getting 25mm spacers and will update this thread to tell if it was enough any questions tho please feel free to ask this sort of mod doesnt seem to b too popular in the 86 community yet which i dont understand bc honestly it i think its the most important addition for drifting, just look at ryan tuerck's car theres a reason he runs the front so wide and also so happens to get wicked angle.. anyway i hope this helped someone cus i wanna see more 86 drifting with me! ![]() |
