Yeah, the only way to prevent rock chips is a clear bra. I used to drive 30 miles roundtrip to work everyday and easily have over a thousand rock chips on my bumper and hood. Right through my $1000 ceramic coating. I stopped caring after the first hundred...

Recently made a 3,000-mile drive to CA and the first time I washed my car after that roadtrip... ouch!

Leave more room in front of you. What else can you do, other than wrap it?

Clear bra. Don't get the dealer version. Get it from a detailing shop. The dealer only does cutouts of it which do not protect the edges. Detailing shops usually fold it along the edge. Second, stop driving so dang close to the person in front and beside you. I also find don't drive behind trucks or SUVs. Cars seem to be safe to drive behind as long as they arn't wearing sticky tires which fling rocks like no tomorrow.
For the windshield, it's a bit cheaper, but some places have a spray on layer that acts as a protecting layer for the windshield. Last time I heard my glass installer had it for 50$. (It was some kind of military use, clear spray on layer. Wish I could give you a name though.)
There's not too much else you can do, that's just the realities of low car life.

The paint on these cars seems to be terrible...I am in the same boat, my hood included. The whole area I live in and drive is under construction and my bumper and hood are just terrible looking now...The sad thing is my older cars I drove in these same areas never got as many rock chips...

I pissed me off unfortunately i have to drive 60 miles round trip on route 80 east/west every morning. I know this rock chips and windshield chips is going to just get worse.

Anyways, im thinking on just waiting a few more years until the bumper is completely f**ckd and just repainted and install some sort of shield protector. As far as the windshield, i guess i have to replace it at some point if it gets very annoying.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

If you poor like me bro, just wax it weekly. HELPS A TON! And yes...new wax removes old wax because wax removes wax with wax and thats the wax thing with wax.

I wax both bumpers, headlights (yes i know lol), bit of front hood, and hips of car. This is weekly or every other week for me.

Cheap and easy to add. Also, helps with bug cleaning.

If you got cash, get a clear bra! Then wax.

Also, be careful when going around semi's, lots of those bishes dont clean the dirt and rocks from their roof's. Especially out of state.

p.s. buy a 2nd bumper haha.... it's on my list! Subaru paint is so thin! It sucks!

I have ClearPlex protection film on my windscreen. If you take into account of the area protected, it's cheaper than smartphone screen protectors lol.
