For me the leather seats, heated mirrors, fogs, push to start, and spoiler seemed like a worthy $2k bump in price to justify the limited trim. Considering the value of what toss upgrades bring to a car, to me seems worth it.

Color isn't, Limited and MT is. I've been in both and the Limited is much nicer.

I think the problem is that Toyota and Subaru set the production prior to taking orders in the first place, thus I can see why dealerships (and customer) are not getting their car despite placing an order as early as March.

Point: there are 140+ Scion FR-S models headed to the Southeast region for the next 2/3 weeks. Yet 2/3rds of those cars are going to be in AT form.

It's crazy! Scion didn't do this to the people who pre-ordered the FRS, why is Subaru?

Eeeeeeeew. I have nothing against AT or their drivers. I've just been taught manual and have always bought manual. Especially since this is a drivers car, AT was never an option for me.

Honestly if I had grown up driving standard I would have probably thought the same way, and MT is what I pre ordered. But if there is one in the same trim in AT chilling at another dealers lot and our pre orders still have an unknown date, that AT becomes quite a viable option. Especially seeing the great feedback from the AT drivers' perspective on the forum it seems like the consensus is "I regret nothing!" Maybe it's my own ignorance for not driving enough manuals but as a DD in some heavy traffic and lengthy commutes I feel like the AT wouldnt be a big compromise.

The automatic is great in this vehicle. I would probably purchase a auto if my daily driver isn't already an auto (tsx). I sold my civic si less than 6 months ago to buy the tsx...and I miss driving manual dearly.

Just got off the phone SoA. My car is still currently "waitlisted." Now he didn't give me an ETA and I actually appreciated the fact that he didn't. He was fully aware of the fact that an ETA shouldn't even be assigned unless the VIN was given, and they don't get that until close to delivery.

That being said, considering the high demand and the rough ~100 some cars that were being allocated this month, he told me it's gonna be a while (read several months) before mine comes in. I was ok with the honest guesstimate, it leans me more towards my decision to back out of my preorder and hop on the SSM AT Limited down the street.

Those of you guys who were wondering when the actual status of "waitlisted" changes, it apparently changes at the plant itself once its ready for production (again, according to the SoA rep). Seeing as mine has been waitlisted for the past month and some change, I think it'll be a while before I even see anything remotely close to progress on my preorder. Now to get my deposit back

To be fair I have no right to complain compared to those who ordered in march. I was a late boomer and preordered May 10th it was a shot in the dark because I was originally calling in about a bugeye wrx and decided the mileage was too much to warrant the purchase. Asked about preordering a brz and they had two left.

ok gotcha, still saying several months is still a killer wait time. I ordered in mid march and have nothing yet so you can imagine Im getting inpatient, but being told pretty much its going to possible take till next year is waaay too long cause who knows what other cars come out during that time

I have no idea how this "John Mergen" comes up with ETA's but it's idiotic. The original vehicle I had put $500 down on, a pre-order made by someone else who canceled in May, had an ETA of October. The new BRZ I ordered from Faulkner Subaru last week has an ETA of, wait for it, October. I think this guy is blowing smoke. How the heck than this guy come up with an ETA without a VIN?

"
Dear Xxxx:

Thank you for your order of a Galaxy Blue Silica 2013 BRZ 2.0 Ltd through Faulkner Subaru.
The ETA of your BRZ to Faulkner Subaru is October. This information has been provided to us by our Distribution Department. I contacted Faulkner Subaru and left a message for Doug Jones, the Sales Manager. I advised him of your message to us and where the ETA information is available to the dealership.

With orders of all other Subaru models, ETA information is not available until a VIN has been assigned to the vehicle order. This information for the BRZ orders was specially made because of the uniqueness with the 2013 BRZ production.
Thanks for the opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

John J. Mergen

Wow, that is surprising they let you order. I was told they weren't doing specific customer orders, just "taking whatever Subaru sent" back in the beginning of April. I ended up going to Williamsport to get mine.

Glad to see another BRZ guy in Central PA!

So is there any new news regarding the next shipment or on fulfilling preorders from March?
