Hey minionman24 and Zadkiel, another Central Pa member here. I ordered a WRB Limited AT from W&L in Northumberland on Monday. I was the 4th of their 4 allocations so I'm guessing (hoping) November!

On what grounds? Subaru never made any promises on delivery dates to anyone. You should take that up with your dealer.

Why am I never buying another Subaru after this one? Because I don't want to deal with another messed up process again? I personally don't care for any other vehicles in their model range? It's personal preference. I don't know why you have to make a stink about it. I'm not insulting you or calling you an idiot or anything.

If anybody really wanted this car, they would have been first in the pre-order line or they would be looking all over the USA for one at MSRP. They exist.

Check Autotrader.com

Check Autotrader.com

So someone who doesn't want a Premium or can't drive a manual and wants an Automatic doesn't want this car? Even if you check autotrader, the results don't always pan out. 2 cars listed for sale in Maryland on autotrader were actually already bought/were pre-ordered by customers. The one is still listed on Wilkins Subaru page. Maybe I don't feel like paying $2k-$5k markup on MSRP when my pre-order is for MSRP.

Just because someone isn't first in the pre-order line or because someone doesn't feel like traveling 100+ miles, over MSRP, or compromising on what they want doesn't mean they didn't want the car. It just means you need to leave everyone alone and let them have whatever choice they want. Good lord....

Pre-order, or even just order a car from Ford, compared to this, Subaru is a joke.

I lucked out and found 1 outa three dealers other than the one I pre-ordered at that had a reasonable price on the model I wanted. And it still comes with crap I didn't want, costing me about $600 more than my pre-order that will never show up at this point.

If I get down there next week and they try to pull anything, I'm bound to go on a rampage at this point!

Funny you mention that. On my way home, I stopped by that dealer close to me with the BRZ that was available. After looking over the car, it was a bone stock WRB Premium with AT, no option or deck spoiler....I look at the sticker....29,600!

So, I humor myself and asked a salesman about the markup. "we put the premium ultra high paint protection on it, like what we put on all our Porsches at our other dealer across the street." Apparently another dealer north has them sitting on the lots...but at...TEN grand over sticker, I'm not surprised.

He then went on the tell me that none of their wait list orders had been delivered and their first in line was getting impatient. From what he heard, they (the dealer) estimated and told the customer to expect it in July. But at this point, they don't even know when. For all new orders placed now, he told customers to expect in 2013 at the earliest.

I personally don't like this dealer and will never buy from them, but it was interesting to see the markups and the fact that they received two BRZs that were just sitting there not sold (but marked up).

On a positive, Subaru America will be at that dealership with a BRZ to test drive, so hopefully I get to finally test drive one!

It's just rediculous that the ordering process is so messed up that pre-orders aren't getting filled until 6-10 months AFTER the pre-order. This is a modern assembly line right? How many cars do GM and Ford churn out daily in 1 plant? Granted, Subaru isn't as large as them, but they have Toyota backing in this as well.

I'm hoping that new order thing he was talking about was a lie. I placed a second order at a different dealer, hoping it would come in before the pre-orders general October/November time frame that I put $500 on. This guy probably cancelled his order for the same reason I'm looking at other places. Better color as well(GBS vs. LR).

Pretty much what it feels like whenever I call and they only give a sad sigh and say no updates. I did go talk to my sales manager and he told me the next boat already left and should be arriving soon.

From what i've gathered from the first boat thread, VINs are assigned once they reach the ports here, correct? Not prior to shipping out from the plant...?

No idea. I don't trust what any salesman says though. THey'll say anything to keep your business.
