Well I just put in an order for a GBS Limited MT with PP1b. Hopefully I'll see an ETA before October. The salesman I worked with, Chris Carvell, already owns a SWP Limited. When he actually pulled over and asked if I wanted to drive it, I couldn't believe it! I definitely love it and any worries about power were quickly thrown away.

I used to own an SR swapped 240SX, that car was insane. This car is really quick, but doesn't scare me like the 240SX did.

You placed that order at Lancaster County motors? They originally had an allotment of 12, any chance your in that? So their employees are buying these cars but not their customers GOSH!

I pre-ordered from Lancaster County Motors, I shouldnt say I dont know anything, I at least have a VON
They are selling at MSRP. I know because I bought the Galaxy Blue Silica Limited-MT. I am having it shipped to Atlanta, GA this week and expect to be in the driver's seat by sometime Friday. I cancelled my pre-order (DGM-Limited-AT) at Jay Subaru of Columbus GA.

Not Lancaster County Motors, Faulkner Subaru in Harrisburg. I know LCM and FSH are the 2 larger dealers in our area. The salesman that let me drive HIS car(I can't stress this enough) actually pre-ordered his in March before there was even a price for the car. He just got it last month.

Just got an offer for the car I want, it has the 1b package and chrome fuel door cover but it's going to be available the last week of this month. Price is 28,906 with a $150 doc fee that they cut in half. Not as good as my 28,200 pre order, but I do get the dimming mirror and chrome fender trim.

Figure it's an additional cost of $600 after taking into account the options actual cost vs real cost with doc fee.

That seems like a reasonable amount vs waiting till October!

Thoughts?

Why are you thinking? BUY IT! I placed an order with my local Subaru dealer, since it seems as though pre-orders are lower priority than brand new orders.

Since a user, I believe it was "theredtape" ordered one last week and got an ETA already, I just got done putting in an order for a GBS 6MT Limited at a different dealer. This dealer apparently sells a lot more cars and has a bit more pull than the other one. We'll see if I get a better ETA than October.

My pre-order dealer just told me I can't get the refund back until they transfer the name on the pre-order with Subaru. That would mean waiting till they probably sell the car that would come in my name, in October, or whenever the hell it happens. Seems a little wacky to me.

Thoughts? Mind you this is a low volume dealer relative to anywhere else in the US. Not sure if the bigger dealers "eat" the fee until a new buyer comes along? He said something about them giving money to Subaru for the pre-orders, doesn't sound right.

If they won't budge on that I'd have them put it in writing and tell them you're getting it notorized. If they refuse to put it in writing then you know something is fishy. That's what I've done when it comes to getting the vehicle at MSRP. I have documents from both dealers I have pre-orders/orders on saying they'll sell it at MSRP.

Thats pretty damn impressive that he let you drive his own car. Must be a true car enthusiast, which is rather rare in the auto industry. So I'm guessing that you loved it as much as everyone else who has driven it? I got to sit in one if that counts! errr

They gave me a pretty broad eta of 6-12 weeks and they may have just been saying that based on prior car sales(not know the availability of this car). So who knows if I will actually get it during the time promised.

I know a friend of mine who just put a deposit on a FRS and they promised in writing that it would arrive in 6-9 weeks.

I considered an FR-S at first, but the looks of the BRZ grew on me more than the FR-S's. That's not even counting the list of stuff you get standard in a Premium for an extra $1k.

This really is frustrating. I pre-oreded my BRZ in early March and was told my car was expected to be in around May or June and that they are usually told 3-4 weeks ahead of time the ETA. I can't believe they are sending dealers cars they didn't order when you would think a company that prides themselves on customer satisfaction would put the people who pre-ordered cars as a high priority. If my car doesn't come in this month I'm going to go buy myself a nice 5.0 mustang because I need a car.....I sold my S60R last week thinking the BRZ would be in this month...

The guys who pre-ordered FRS's have got their cars in as they expected, why aren't the Subaru's?
