I have a similar story, but with an airplane. My wife lost her Dad when she was 12. He owned a '49 Cessna 170 that he restored and used to take her flying in when she was younger. I tracked it down from Maryland to Texas (much easier to do with planes since the tail number doesn't usually change, and its public record).
I've been trying off and on for 20 years to get the owner to sell it to me but he won't budge. Hopefully I'll outlive him!

These are cars that I would be able to outright buy and would absolutely love to have in my garage. In order of want:

1. Supra single turbo
2. ST205
3. ST185
4. 94-95 SW20
5. NSX-T

I have a relative north of the border that I've been in talks of buying his ST205 but damn regulations here in US!..Either way, I hope it ends up in my garage soon

I love those! A buddy of mine has an orange one. He and his family pile into it every summer and drive it from WA to CA and back again. According to him it's an absolutely incredible road trip car. The ultimate GT basically.

Yes, such a ridiculous car I love it, "Yes I bought an Italian V12 Hatchback that seats 4"

Absurd upkeep I hear, something is always wrong and even the ones with problems are well north of $50k in "running" condition.

Beg to differ. Saw this thing at Cobble Beach last year then again at CIAS. Stunning. I saw the Ralph Lauren Type 57SC at the Musee des Beaux Arts in Montreal years ago, along with one of the F&F Talbot Lagos at an exhibition of the 100 most beautiful cars ever made. It is hard to imaging something more beautiful, but I think this is it.

Side note > My last car was a 09 Civic SI FA5, my dream for the car was to make it into a USDM replica of the Feels FD2, but it was stolen before i was financially stable enough to do it! As soon as i can have a third car ill be looking for another 8th gen sedan to chase my 18 year old boy racer dreams..

Moving On

Nissan Cefiro:

I got a thing for drifty sedans and these were always seen as the gold standard, but i would gladly take a Chaser, 929 or even a modern Mark X if I ever had the oppurtunity! luckily those importing laws are coming into effect!

Lexus LS: any gen:
