One other thought: if you're worried about utility buy a second car. I will soon have a wife who is bringing a daughter along but the FR-S is staying and we're working out the numbers on a small sedan/suv.

If you plan for it you can have you cake and eat it too.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind. Enjoy your silly Fiat.

At what point in history did people lose the ability to make a decision without consulting random strangers on the internet?

At the point when we could no longer afford to make mistakes from major financial decisions to a crappy lunch place.

"The information is there why didn't you know better? Didn't you do your research?"

"Ew, 3.5 stars on Yelp"

"Glassdoor says their growth potential is awful"

There seems to be a sincere worry about being successful the first try in a large portion of the younger generation, SAT Scores, college choice, employer choice, etc.

Quote:
My parents had an arranged marriage. This always fascinated me. I am perpetually indecisive about even the most mundane things, and I couldn’t imagine navigating such a huge life decision so quickly.
I asked my dad about this experience, and here’s how he described it: he told his parents he was ready to get married, so his family arranged meetings with three neighboring families. The first girl, he said, was “a little too tall,” and the second girl was “a little too short.” Then he met my mom. He quickly deduced that she was the appropriate height (finally!), and they talked for about 30 minutes. They decided it would work. A week later, they were married.
And they still are, 35 years later. Happily so—and probably more so than most people I know who had nonarranged marriages. That’s how my dad decided on the person with whom he was going to spend the rest of his life.
Let’s look at how I do things, maybe with a slightly less important decision, like the time I had to pick where to eat dinner in Seattle when I was on tour last year. First I texted four friends who travel and eat out a lot and whose judgment I trust. I checked the website Eater for its Heat Map, which includes new, tasty restaurants in the city. Then I checked Yelp. And GQ’s online guide to Seattle. Finally I made my selection: Il Corvo, an Italian place that sounded amazing. Unfortunately, it was closed. (It only served lunch.) At that point I had run out of time because I had a show to do, so I ended up making a peanut-butter-and-banana sandwich on the bus. The stunning fact remained: it was quicker for my dad to find a wife than it is for me to decide where to eat dinner.
This kind of rigor goes into a lot of my decisionmaking. Whether it’s where I’m eating, where I’m traveling or, God forbid, something I’m buying, like a lot of people in my generation—those in their 20s and 30s—I feel compelled to do a ton of research to make sure I’m getting every option and then making the best choice. If this mentality pervades our decision*making in so many realms, is it also affecting how we choose a romantic partner?

Guess not.

I suppose the saying "You don't know what you're missing" didn't work when your were a kid and your parents were trying to convince you to eat brussel sprouts either?

Apparently having the info at hand did not help the OP with the purchase of the FRS.

Also it would appear that the responses here will have little to no impact as it is apparent a decision had already been reached prior to asking the question. I just can not comprehend the purpose behind asking a question and then arguing with the people that answer.

It is not just the OP I am referring to either it is the pure number of "Should I get a Twin", "I want something else what should I get", "What is better XXX or XYZ" questions that seem to abound lately. That is not doing research that is something completely different.

Oh well I will continue to do real objective research before buying something and let everybody else do things their way.

I have nothing to say that will contribute to this thread, so I will comment with this:

My neighbor 3 houses down has an Abarth. As I backout of my drive way, coast down and proceed to turn onto the exit street, I catch him staring at my car. Not just rubbernecking, but full on body turn.

This has happened every morning since I bought the car last Saturday. Looks like there may be another Twin on the block.

I think you are reading a little bit too much into what i am getting at or why i am posting this. I genuinly am honestly just curious of what some other 86 owner's think. I'm not asking people to tell me what to do exactly, just want some friendly advice. I appreciate the time anyone has taken to read what i wrote and want some feedback I'm not asking for anyone's pointless judgemntal nonsense. just dont comment and leave it alone? i also was not argueing with anyone but more explaining my logic if i think they might be misunderstanding what im trying to say. either way im going to make my own decision. Learn to be a little more respectful, it'll get you places in life.

'paragraph by paragraph'

1. Doesn't that prove my post?

2. Everyone is just searching for validation, psych 101.

3. Get used to it, this generation is dealing with a post Boomer economy/society and a massive radical shift in how we communicate and convey information, 20 years ago it was normal to send a letter to a friend, there are people browsing this very post who do not know how to address an envelope because they were never taught because it's been phased out of the curriculum, we're struggling to adjust expectations.

4.

Few things.

1. Some of old crew here, take it easy.
2. OP, sell the BRZ.
3. OP, FYI Tcoat is older than you think. I know he can sound young troller, but he's not young by any means.
4. I said this over & over, but I'll say it again. Only handful will love & understand FRS/BRZ. If you don't like em, trade em & get something you like. You'll be happy, we're happy that we still have our FRS/BRZ.

Simple as that

Like I said It wasn't just you and I was not just commenting for the sake of commenting it was a general observation.
If you ask for opinions you will get them. If you don't agree with them it doesn't make them "judgemental nonsense" you both just differ.
Hope you decide!

And not trolling!
I appreciate that tone and inflection are not present in print but both my question and follow up were written in full sincerity and not in anger. If people so choose to read them as such that is an indication of their state of mind not mine.
