17x9 and 18x9?

Am I crazy or is it really hard to find these two sizes for more than a few wheels?

Consistently, I can only find rpf1's and 57dr's, it seems other popular wheels just skip those two sizes completely. I think these sizes are just about perfect for what i want and anything larger would just be super aggressive.

But mainly wondering, is there an engineering thing im missing as to why these sizes are seemingly unavailable? or is it just a lack of demand? am I just looking at the wrong websites?

You can also find Weds TC105Ns in 17x9. But I agree 18x9 are not common in 5x100 (but 18x9.5s are). Of course you can always go Rota or XXR .

is there a certain style of wheel you are looking for. seems like there is quite a variety of options in the 'aggressive wheel thread'. varstoen, volk, advan, gram light, tsw, forgeline, adv1, hre could all accommodate you. It will be very hard to find a wheel with the quality of enkei (JWL/TUV certification) for the price though.

but yes there is a lack of demand for smaller sized wheels for the 86. Most sports/luxury cars these days come with at least 19's or 20's from the factory. hell even the new porsche gt3rs comes with 21" rears standard.

Wheels in 17x9:
Weds TC105
Gram Lights 57DR
Gram Light 57Extreme
Enkei RPF1
Volk TE37V
Work CR Kiwami

Wheels in 18x9.5
Gram Lights 57DR
Gram Lights 57Extreme
Gram Lights Getter
Gram Lights 57XX
Volk TE37/SL
Volk ZE40
Work CR Kiwami
Enkei RP03
Enkei RPF1
Enkei NT03
Advan RGIII
Advan TCIII
Advan GT
SST GTV02

Just to name a few. Add to that the dozen of rep wheels from companies like Rota, Ambit, Vordoven, Varrstoen etc.

There are plenty of options out there for this car, especially when you compare now to 3 years ago when the car first came out. A lot of the wheels I listed are also available in 5x100 with smaller widths as well, such as 8j and 8.5j.

I'm assuming the lack of sizing in 5x100 is related to the the limited cars that run that bolt pattern. The 5x100 pattern is ran by some toyota, VW and Subaru, which many of these cars are under powered to run such a wide or large diameter wheel.

You can find the 17x9 and 18x9 in replica wheels all day long.

the limited choices of being 5x100 is more restrictive than anything imo

theres still a ton of options out there...

which wheels were you wanting, but not in our bolt pattern?

My Forgestar F14 wheels are 17x9...and you can do 18x9 in that too.

Or HRE FF15 in 18x9

I like NT03M'S, some other gramlights, SSR GTV series and a few others im probably forgetting. The lack of sizing isn't a huge problem its just odd to me more than anything. I think 17x9/18x9 is pretty ideal for a non FI car just to look cool and scoot around town in. I guess since its trendy to run super aggressive wheels, manufacturers just choose not make those two sizes as often?

I dont know..... just an observation
