Anything will swirl if you wipe in circular motions with it and catch dirt/debris. Wipe in straight motions - don't swirl like a retard. Keep your towel/mitt/sock/whatever-the-fuck-you-use clean, spray it off if it gets too dirty. I bought a bunch of microfiber towels (quality doesn't matter, it's dirt/debris that scratches paint not the fucking fibers in a towel) and go through 10-12 per wash. Once one gets dirty I grab another. Then I just wash them in the washing machine when I'm done.
Also, I wouldn't use the one in OP's pic because it's dark colored and difficult to tell how dirty it is. Last edited by brianhj; 05-13-2015 at 05:51 PM. |

Im using Chemical Guys' washmit together with their products, Maxi Sudds, Black Light, Pete's 53 etc. working fine here with no visible scratches/swirls or anything.

it may not be the sponge or Mitt it could be hard water. Or could be something on the clear coat...I suggest Meguiar's Polish first. so wash and dry as normal then use their polish. Time consuming yes but it will work. Follow directions to the letter.

The water here is horrible, so I got an inline filter with a water softener cartridge. It has made a HUGE difference in the amount of deposits left on the paint.
