Ya really! Just try to match it on the other side and you can head off to a showing of F&F.

LMAO it's like seeing the jersey barriers on the interstate with all the tire marks 3 feet off the ground, like what? How the fuck do you get a tire that high off the ground?

Anyway, this car sketches me out sometimes while merging, even with properly adjusted mirrors. I always think there's a stupid big blind spot and I'm going to hit someone.

Don't know if serious, but that's the way the barriers are designed. If you hit them glancing from the side, the car rides up on the angle, hits the solid part and rides back down. You can do it without any damage to the car if you do it just right.

My dad said the same thing about ex-girlfriends. Maybe that explains why we moved a lot when I was younger...

We all argued a little over what happened, but both of them and the cop that showed up agreed that the damage alone indicated I was at fault. He didn't write me a ticket, which was my primary concern, so as we left the scene I apologized on the way out just to be nice.. and because I did feel bad regardless of who's fault it was. I'll let the insurance figure it out and just go with what they decide.
If cop & his report say that you're at fault, then that's what insurance is going to say as well.

Always happy to help. You score 50 F&F points each time you complete it successfully. 100 F&F points if you fail and end up flying over the barrier into oncoming traffic. 1000 F&F points if you go over and do it without killing anyone.

Absolutely. Actually, I know this because I once got run over into one by an obliviot that came over in my lane and decided that they would just keep coming over even after seeing me. My MR2 rode it up, back down and I came away unharmed (well except for needing to stop and clean my pants).

Of course, I couldn't find a decent video of it working to not destroy a car, but if watch this one you can see how it deflects the truck and minimizes damage even at this extreme angle. If you came up it straight on, you could ride up and down with little to no damage.

I figured as much, and I don't really care. I have accident forgiveness so my premium won't change, and the repairs for both cars might be below the 500 deductible anyway. She had a tiny dent and some smeared paint, and I think it's the same for me. Could just be a quick buff and suction cup job for both of us.

I wasn't worried about who covers the damages, I just tried to create as much confusion as possible over what happened so that the cop wouldn't feel comfortable writing a ticket

I made a big stink at first over who's fault it was and what really happened. As soon as I was confident that he wasn't writing any tickets, I was just like well sorry for the inconvenience everyone, I'm sure USAA will cover it, bye!

Get a paintless dent repair pro to take a peek. They can work wonders. I did pretty much the same thing in a WRX wagon vs a pickup. I DID have the right of way where two lanes merged into one. I should have just let the dude go past. Whatever.

I used some bug and tar remover on the rubber - that worked. The paintless dent dude did a little magic and - good as new.

Check out some of the videos on the net of what is possible...
