It makes me wonder if maybe your car had a mis-manufactured j-hook installed from the factory. Either way, I'm glad you've got it sorted and the solution of an s-hook is pretty clever too.

Yea, I'm guessing others haven't complained as they were as embarrassed as I was at failing to pull off such a simple install. Thanks for being so responsive, and forthcoming --- I continue to wear my GS hat with pride (thanks Evan from RallySportDirect for the swag)
