My car is in!
Dealer just called to say that my WRB Limited 6MT was just dropped off. I'll be heading out Thursday AM to take a look at it and give it a quick drive. Can't look at it tonight as dealer is 70 miles away!
If I like it and fit well in it we'll write up the sale and I'll have to go back Friday to pick it up. I've been approved for a loan @ 2.74% at my bank but I'm not signing the loan until after I see car and make decision to purchase it. I've never had an opportunity to see one so this will be my first exposure to a BRZ.

Well, I went, I saw, I drove it. I love it! The WRB is amazing. Seeing the color in person it is just an amazing color...perfect for the BRZ.
Drove it about 25 miles on mostly straight urban roads with stop lights. I hit a couple of cloverleafs to at least get a feel for the cornering. I felt the 3500 rpm torque dip. Not really too bad but still there. The seat lacks a bit of lumbar support. I spent a good hour looking at the car and sitting in it before I made the decision to buy it. Will take it home Friday and I'm really looking forward to that drive as I'll be able to take some super nice curvy roads back. I think this is a car that one will appreciate more as you put some miles on it. I'll post a more in depth review after I get some miles on it.

Congrats! The lumbar support a torque dip are two things I've noticed after putting 800 or so miles on mine, I didn't pick up the nuances as quick as you.

Just got it home, 75 mile drive from dealer to my house. This is a car that as you drive it more you will appreciate and enjoy more.
The lumbar support may not be as much an issue that I thought. By the time I got home I was pretty aclimated to the seat. Very supportive and comfortable. The light clutch and high engagement point was bothersome but I think as I drive the car I will fully adapt to it. The trans/shifter is super! Great snicky and short throws. The clunk that some have noticed...I have also. But if you hold the clutch fully in and wait a second or two before selecting first gear it will slide right in smoothly and quietly and no clunk. The torque dip does not seem as noticable now for some reason. This engine loves to rev! Noticed that there is no lane change three-blink function on the turn signal. It was 95* here and the A/C was great. I think the radio sounds fine. Had to fiddle with the settings a bit at first. Got to figure how to set up the gear position indicator. Mine has no display. I think the build quality is great. I'm coming from a VW MKV GTI and BMW's and have a lot of exposure to Porsche 997's. Th

Congrats!
Good to your thoughts specifically on the lumbar support. |
