I'm not the OP though just to be clear, I just stumbled across this while in the market for a header I didn't have to wait for so I could be done this weekend as planned.

I will let everyone know but as I said I honestly expect to go back to either a JDL UEL or OFH UEL because that's the sound I enjoyed most from the car, but why not test this header on my setup with E85 and see if it changes my mind.
If it does I will most likely look at the PTuning EL, see if JDL has an EL option and go from there.

However I have a feeling my review needs a new thread lol

I think we can really end this thread with this summary which is fair to both sides:

Is it bad for original company's business = No because the price difference entails two separate markets
Is it a shit move to copy another companies design = of course it is
Can we do anything about it = No
What do we get from this thread = If you are planning to buy the original nameless header and can afford to do so, why the hell are you not? And if you do plan on buying a header for 550$ then you should seriously consider the pros and cons of doing so.
To guilt people into not buying a product is a slippery slope that isn't a forum's place. The job of the forum is to inform the facts so that people can make a decision on their own. Why don't we allow @Cross to review the product, see how it goes and let people make their own decisions based on the results
You want to know what buying knock off parts results in?

It results in a lack of business justification for innovation.

That's a huge attempt to distort what he said which was he was moving to higher end markets not small nitch markets.

That's the most bullshit hyperbole I've ever read. He decided to move away from this chassis well before this header came out. I'm not defending either side but you took both of our comments out of context so for that you should get a shit covered medal.

Not inferring it's the only reason, but with cheaper markets like ours, there's really not much incentive to devote resources to innovation when 1) the budget of your customer is limited and 2) the chances of having an imitator succeed in taking your design is higher than a higher end market.

I still stand by my statement that is a factor and don't want to seem like I'm back peddling just because you called it out though.

Actually, rereading and thinking about it, you both are right. It's a reach. They're still continuing the support current offerings.

My bad.

a) Anyone who has experience with the GTR market knows how much Chinese knockoffs have entered the market + this is 100k car, yet there is no escaping the knockoffs

b) I will argue that this platform has more to offer for aftermarket companies because these cars are the children of the aftermarket world, how many ISF's or M3's do you think you will see modified compared to a 30k car targeted at youth.

I think we are all agreeing on more than we think we are :P

I totally agree that reps are a shitty industry but at the same time they are there to be analyzed by consumers. Like you all said, it will be poorer quality but whether its $500 quality or $100 quality remains to be seen.

It's clear any conversation that doesn't follow his narrative he either argues with or gives up when he can't overcome it, just ignore him.

Also that same Header is on ebay for about 120 perhaps you could go find a thread on it and complain about it.

What's wrong with rocking a $73 header? You guys have bills to pay, right? It's all about your cost right?

I've presented the best header for you guys.
