Stock Exhaust + Exhaust tips = GREAT!

So in keeping my mods simple, cost effective, and easy as I'm still paying down the car, I decided to do the exhaust tips. The stock ones look so damn weak.

I didn't want a full exhaust system as it has been shown to add next to no horsepower and I like the quietness of the stock exhaust. The car really only needs bigger tips to make it nice so I got the DC Sports EX-1013 tips.

Probably took around 20min to install. Be prepared to drill out the old bolts that hold on the stock tips as they all inevitably break. Other than that, it took more time adjusting symmetry between the tips than it did the actual install.

This is a must do if you're looking for something cost effective and aesthetically pleasing- while retaining quietness.

Honestly, I'm not sure you would want tips any bigger than these. To fill the rear bumper cutout you will need like 5" tips! Would look cool if this were 1995, but tips anything larger than these or the original gt86 tips is plain rice.

The process install is really a no-brainer. There is one bolt under each tip and literally remove and replace. The bolts will break so be prepared to drill them out.

I bought the dc sports ex1012 tips myself two weeks ago. When I went to bolt it on, the tips were way too long (9" tips) and I didn't like the look. I took it to my local muffler shop and they cut and welded the tips onto my stock muffler for $50. I plan to get an exhaust next year, but I like the way the new tips look, I'm not in as much of a rush to buy one now

Looks awesome man!
I'm happy I bought the 2015 cause the tips are larger. I however want a little louder but then again damn you are right in many ways....even like an greddy sp elite axel back would cost $800.00 and you basically get no Hp gains and not that much difference in noise.

I also in a way prefer quiet exhausts so maybe i should just stick to the stock one.

Thanks!

Unless you want something louder (I couldn't be bothered with a loud exhaust. Especially on high idle start-up!), an exhaust system really does nothing in terms of performance by itself. You ultimately need everything else to make it worth while- like headers, intake system, and a tune, or a turbo/supercharger system. I'll save the full exhaust system for when I go turbo one day or if the stock one falls apart before then. For now, the tips work perfectly.

Are the '15 tips the same ones on the gt86? I didn't know the newer cars got upgraded tips. Lucky!
