So I'll have it for a week as of tomorrow. It's not so bad driving a sports car in NY everyday. A few observations:
PROS
-gas mileage has been better than expected 24/33
-people get excited to see it (as do I)
-handling is outstanding and transitioning from curve to curve is effortless

CONS
-I DESPISE THE F'N SEAT BELT STRAP
-rattles in 2/3 gear
-shifter is funny sometimes and needs extra effort to go into gear. Not smooth at all
-Prius tires suck
-Radio buttons (on screen) are small.

A lot of these are growing pains for both me and the car but I love it. Driving is fun now.

You're free this friday to come to the meet, right?!

Does yours do the chirping at an idle if the engine is ran for some time?

Does this mean the folks at Fred Beans liked your GBS better than my DGM?

I thought it was funny when you said STI's and Evo's were no big deal because my cousin had both in Queens and you would see quite a few down there that it wasn't anything huge. I'd agree since i'm the Westchester area to check out Bear Mountain for a drive.

Nice story, good to hear from someone living in the big city.

Been to NYC once, nice and lovely tourist city, but no way I can live in such a crowded and large city - not because it is bad, I just hate seeing traffic and tall buildings everyday.

Yesterday I installed a set of 225/45/17 Dunlop Z1 Star Specs. WOW just WOW. The grip levels are miles ahead of the Primacy HPs. Any time you add such a significant improvement in grip you'll notice a little more body roll. This car has very little to begin with so a little isn't really hurting it. The ride is a little stiffer but nothing too crazy.

Last night on my way home from work I got a chance to try out my absolute FAVORITE turn anywhere in NYC. The entrance to the Cross Island Parkway from the Whitestone Expressway is an awesome, almost Laguna Seca like, hi to low, left to right banking turn. I kept the car in 3rd around 50mph and pinned it and the car just kept climbing in revs and speed and just planted itself. The exit out of the turn onto the Cross Island was just amazing since you get to go under an overpass mid-turn. The car was singing. I'm getting used to the raspy sound (its a big departure from the roar of my LS powered G8 GT.)

I think the next step will be to test it at the NY Region SCCA Autocross next Saturday July 7th at Nassau Coliseum. I'll be running it in Road Tire Stock class which should be interesting. My main competition right now is a 370Z running RTS also. He is a great driver so I should have my hands full. I encourage ANYONE who wants to become a better driver to come to an event and participate. Autocross is really the safest and most inexpensive form of motorsport out there. Well time to go back to work. Breaks over. Happy Apex Hunting!

Do you live in Bayside? My brother said he saw a black BRZ by his gf's house in Bayside Gables.
