They dropped it.

Tell me, can they beat the C7 ?

I'm pretty sure we will see a Supra vs C7 once the Supra comes out.

Yeah, it will beat it on performance specs. But what about its' price ? There is no way Toyota can pull out of their butts any car that beat C7 in specs + Price

True but then again I wouldn't worry much because the FRS cost more than the Mustang, yet Toyota was still able to sell a lot of them. Sure the Supra will cost more but that means less people will be able to afford it which is good if you want to be different on the road. Also you are paying for QUALITY.

The NSX will cost alot, as much as a 911 Carrera S, but many do not realise it should be faster than a 911 Turbo S, that costs close to 200K. The NSX will be more rare, looks more special than a 911, should be more reliable (though Porsche also is more reliable than any other German, Italian or British car).

The whole problem to the question is what are BMW and Toyota working on? I know BMW will not build any supercar to rival the Audi R8. Their "supercar" is the i8. Now what will the Supra be, what will the SC be? What BMW and Toyota will have in common will be the chassis made of aluminium, CF. Body, engines and electronics should be different. Question also is if hybrid technology shall be used, and if yes both or only one brand?

By the way, the Supra and the SC shared the same chassis.

Next question are the engines: Toyota has the NA 3.5l V6 and 5.0l V8. I4 will be turbo and make up to 300 PS. When will the 3.0l V6 and 4.0l V8 turbo come? With the next Lexus LS? For the Supra Toyota can choose between the FI 2.0l I4 (~300 PS) and the NA 3.5l V6 (+320 PS). For the SC Lexus can choose between the NA 5.0l V8 (+450 PS) and the upcoming FI 4.0l V8 (~500 PS). BMW can choose between their 3.0l I6 (~450 PS) and their 4.4l V8 (~600 PS) or their non produced V6 engine, if the common chassis will be built for V6 only (mid-front layout).

Hope we'll know more soon. But as for now I don't see the Lexus SC come any soon, especially with the now coming RC-F, the NX and the next generation LS.

The SC replacement is preview by the LF-LC.

I know the SC is coming and the LF-LC was a preview. But what is it based on? LFA aluminium platform powered by V8 + Hybrid or is it based on BMW+Toyota CF platform? What is the Supra based on? Lexus RC platform or BMW+Toyota CF/aluminium platform? Until we don't know anything about at least one of the three cars, it is hard to know.

But unlike the BMW M1 successors that is also rumored to come for the past 10 years, the Supra will come, whereas the BMW will never (official internal decision at BMW), at least in the way many expect.

So we kinda set sail on that idea a long time ago, we are not expecting the Soarer and Supra to share platform or chassis in the coming future since they departed from that in 2000.
