I honestly dont think LFA is expensive. I think it is rather cheap.

1/ all new chasis
2/ all carbon fiber uniqueness made by Lexus
3/ all new designed engine
4/ all new designed performance parts, and techs
5/ Super reliability from Lexus. Did you see an LFA with 30,000 miles and still run like a champ under racing condition in the sandy wind ?
6/ Trully Limited to only 500 globally.

***during it test drive for production, it cost someone life as well"
If you detailed it out, it is cheap. If you just simply look at power output and price, it is expensive. Me, personally think it is cheap.

If another Supra successor enters the market, I'll expect it to be around 70-80K. However, it just doesn't seem that Toyota doesn't have the same quality and passion like they used to though.

Don't mind the porno music but the Supra was a great handling car.

Look at the Bay Area back in the 90's!

im gonna go on a limb here and say that the new supra is going to take advantage of BMW's hybrid drivetrains that they have been developing. Seeing as how this would make a great and low risk test bed for bmw. It also does not make sense to have a hybrid sports car without a KERS system, so i would expect to see this as well.

In '87 Mk3 Supra Turbo had 232 hp when Corvette had 240 hp.
In '97 Mk4 Supra Twin Turbo had 320 hp when Corvette had 345 hp.

What's a base 'Vette put down these days?

Both had better weight distribution with iron block L6s than the twins do with short aluminum block H4s and aluminium hoods.

Both had a proper double wishbone front suspension.

Both were quite expensive in their time.

I suspect any modern day Supra will follow in the path of the Mk1 and Mk2, which was just a stretched and slightly restyled version of an existing 4 cyl sports car with a 6 cyl added and top level suspension and brakes.

So think more Celica-Supra, and less Diesel- Walker...

C7 is 475/475 hp/torque. Factory estimated

3300 lbs

51,995 starting price

0-60 in less than 4 seconds

1/4 about 12 seconds

Weight distribution of about 50/50.

For all you people wanting any Team that toyota has developing cars nowadays, go home. Look at all the shit yall have to settle with for almost 30k. Plastic all over the place.

The Supra had the best top quality parts. Was designed in response to Nissan's RB26dett, and was way better than theirs. Hell, I really hope that Toyota can do this right and make it compete against the GT-R, and in that class of cars. Look at this, The GT-R is the newest incarnation or the BNR34. Hopefully they take 99% of the Supra parts, reliability, and power and put it into the next "Supra". I just hope they keep it a 6cyl, twin turbo, rwd, and have the interior like the old day cockpits in the Supra's. I hope that they can make it for about the same price for the first new ones around the same price as the GT-R's did and just gradually get better.

I still think that the 93-98 supra can still whoop anything on the road today anyway... Long as its a Hwy pull. lmao

RRnold, thanks for posting those videos, I love seeing anything Supra.

Thought I'd share this throwback to Toyota's great days, to which I still feel in the 86:

I can't see how a red supra could run with a gtr stock to stock, the current gtr does the 1/4 in 10.8 and o-60 under 3 sec and right around 7:20 around the ring . Now a new one will be out in 2016 that will probably improve all those numbers! Good luck beating that for 75k while many have failed at 200k

New Supra to inherited Toyota Hybrid Racing Tech ?

Toyota has been very much successful with Hybrid Economical vehicles. Many Enthusiast are saying that Toyota has gone Bland and Boring, but actually Toyota has been working on the Next Evolutionary Technology of it Hybrid Development.

Remember how Evolutionary the released Supra was ? I am personally hope to see the New Supra will yet be the same Evolutionary product which will last 25+years into the future.

Supra HVR.

UPDATE: After 12 hours of racing, the Supra is in first place overall. As of hour 12, the track is wet and it's raining at Tokachi.

UPDATE 2: After 20 hours of racing, the hybrid Supra remains in the lead, having completed 507 laps. The second place car has completed 492.

UPDATE 3: With 2 hours to go, the Supra HV-R has expanded its lead. it is now 17 laps up on the second- and third-place cars.

Now Toyota is coming back into the game at Lemans racing with the Newest Hybrid Technology. Here is a Showcase. Please enjoy the Video

Pray for the new Supra to be released with this Ultimate Evolutionary Technology.

I'd love to see Hybrid tech on the new Supra, but you know all the fanboys would be hating on it.

Mostly because they won't be able to work on the car, but a few intelligent people who know their stuff will be able to.

I always argued what made the Supra great was what you could do to it aftermarket wise, not how it came in Stock form. If you couldn't upgrade that 2JZ we wouldn't be hearing so much about the Mark 4.

Most tuners/fanbois prefer a car with "Old Tech+Modern Flavor". Even if hybrid tech makes iy more difficult for tuners and enthusiasts, i welcome the change.

i dont think lemans is a good indicator of performance potential since i think the rules favor diesel and hybrid cars. still cool though.
