Yeah, I would prefer they make a cheaper NA version and also a turbo version for those who want the extra power (both would be BMW sourced). They could possibly add electric power as well. It would end up being very powerful yet still fuel efficient.

But who knows.

Ugly!!! Super Ugly. Look like some newbie in Designing did the Job with no creativity. I can imagine what he did.

++Sculptured the most Aero Efficient form, which is Water Drop shape.

++Chop it in Half.

++Started cutting here and there Randomly, so it doesn't look like anything else.

++Ended up in this Horrible Concept.

I swear to God, if the Production comes out like this. I don't care what Marvelous Technologies, or how good, how fast, whatsoever good. I will never buy one.

The new supra will probably be ugly to most honestly. 1993 supra like the other cars its class were advanced with sleek body lines were before its time. not to mention high hp for its platform back then. People ignorant to cars still ask what year is my supra thinking its in mid 2000's (i realize they made car til 2002 in japan) . Neverless my only hope is that they dont do a merge w/ say Bmw to bring back a classic like the Supra. i enjoy my 86 but would have like it more if it was pure Toyota/SCION/lexus. Once again i like the twinz, but Love Toyota more. i dont want the credit for supra to be able to go to another company. Just my opinion.

Toyota’s Incoming Chairman Says He Wants Supra-Like Sports Car

The supra is long due in the making right now. Just can't wait like this forum was waiting for 86 in the 2010/2011 ; But one thing I don't like is sharing w/bmw. Why can't toyota stick w/ their own design development for new supra ???

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-0...tml?cmpid=yhoo

Toyota Motor Corp. (7203)’s incoming chairman said he wants the sports car the company is developing with Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) to be a midsize vehicle comparable to the discontinued Supra.
Takeshi Uchiyamada has been telling people that Toyota’s next sports car should be like the Supra so that it doesn’t overlap with the 86 coupe, he said in an interview yesterday in Osaka at a gathering of members of the Keidanren, Japan’s biggest business lobbying group. Still, such decisions are up to engineers, Uchiyamada said.

Takeshi Uchiyamada, newly appointed chairman, is scheduled to become Toyota’s next chairman at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting this week, replacing Fujio Cho, who will become honorary chairman.

“That’s what I want but it’s not me who makes the decision,” said Uchiyamada, who’s known within Toyota as the “father of the Prius” for his work developing the world’s best-selling gasoline-electric car. “It’s futile if we make something similar” to the 86, he said.
Toyota and BMW announced this year they will jointly produce a midsize sports car as part of a broader collaboration between the two. Should Uchiyamada, who’s leading the negotiations with BMW, get his wish, Toyota would be reviving a model that was last produced in 1999 after a 20-year run.

Toyota spokesman Naoto Fuse declined to comment beyond saying nothing has been decided.
Uchiyamada, 66, is scheduled to become Toyota’s next chairman at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting this week, replacing Fujio Cho, who will become honorary chairman. President Akio Toyoda, grandson of the founder, runs day-to-day operations at the world’s biggest carmaker.

I'd be infinitely more interested Toyota or Subaru building a cab-rearward 2-seater based on the FT86 with 50/50 or more rearward weight distribution than a "mid-sized" (read: 3400+ lb.) new Supra.

While this is nice to know, but ....

Not even a concept yet. I remember years of 86 concept before it was announced for production.

Toyota do make their own sport car. Check out LF-LC. Lexus mid range sport car.

Toyota Supra

I am sure this is old news but I will share anyway. I read this yesterday about the new car Toyota is developing along with BMW.
