Just put my deposit down!

From Heuberger Motors! Got a 6MT '14 Limited BRZ black silica..super excited! Now that I need to wait a few weeks for delivery, I want to start preparing and buying supplemental parts now. PLEASE suggest any to add/modify! (I couldn't find a solid answer on what type of oil to use)

List of parts/items I have planned:
  • 15208AA130 Oil filters - ordered
  • Motul 1L GEAR 300 75W90 (holding off on this for now)
  • Fumoto Drain valve - ordered
  • Rhino Ramps - ordered
  • Weathertech floor mats
  • Interior plastics because the silver is ugly
  • Smoked side markers - ordered
  • Shark fin antenna
  • OEM arm rest
  • K&N Drop in filter - ordered
  • OFT/OFH

These are all for maintenance purposes, I will be starting a build thread when the car comes and post pics!

Congrats! Too many parts to recommend, it depends on what you want to make of the car. I'd recommend just searching the forums for things that interest you and reading from there.

For aesthetics, one nice thing to improve your '14 model would be to replace the stock antenna on the roof with a sharkfin from BeatSonic.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am mainly looking for maintenance/necessities for now, but I'll definitely keep that in mind when I create my build thread!

Weathertech floor mats are a great way to keep the interior clean! Since you went with black, maybe get the cars leading edges wrapped in 3M vinyl. Oh and congrats!

Just to let you know, the rhino ramps are too steep for our cars to go up. I have a set and I use some wood to make it up to the top of them. I'd still recommend them though because they've worked well for me on several cars, and aren't that expensive.

I'd honestly recommend holding off on the gear oil. Some people have issues, many others don't and why fix what isn't broken. I've been using the factory fill for two years with not a single problem, though I will be changing it out soon as a preventative measure due to the amount of track time my car sees.

I agree with the advice from Decay. Dont switch out the gear oil unless you have shifting issues.

Yes, I've heard good things about those, thanks!

I saw a post awhile back explaining this, I think I have some 2x4s laying around I can use.

This is not actually an upgrade, but since you haven't taken delivery, I would recommend that you stop the dealer from drilling holes in your front bumper for the license plate. Then purchase a tow hook plate holder if the state you live in requires a front plate.

If you are only worried about protection
-factory mudgaurds
-under body panels

If you want aesthetics
-interior plastics because the silver is ugly
-side markers
-shark fin antenna
-arm rest

Performance
-K&N Drop in filter
-OFT/OFH
-tires

Also, most people like to plug the sound tube.

Yes! Plug that damn tube. Sounds much better to me without that noise pumped in the cabin.

I'd think about whether you want to have the front of your car resprayed in 3-4 years or do a clear bra right now. My car is 3 years old and the front bumper has alot of nicks, chips and gouges. I REALLY wish I got a quality full coverage clear bra.

Ah, forgot that one because my car came with it

That is probably the best thing you can do in terms of protective mods.

Already talked to Heuberger and they don't drill the bumper

Already have a place in mind where I can get this done, i'm doing clear bra on the front and then full opti-coat
