I have ridden on several other of the cheaper Tein setups on different cars and was very skeptical considering those experiences were downright painful. These coilovers have me quite impressed. The car is being aligned and corner weighted at West End next week and I can't wait to see how the car feels after it's all dialed in there.

fyi - Each damper clearly states made in Japan on the damper body itself.

How does the flex z compare to ST coilovers? I've seen most people on the forum recommending the STs around this price point. I am assuming the flex z would be a little harsher due to pillow ball mounts.

I wouldn't say that they're that comparable considering the ST's don't have any dampening adjustment, no camber adjustment included and you lose travel as you lower them. Those are three major downsides to the ST compared to the Flex Z and I haven't even ridden them!

Sincerely,

Zach

ST coilovers ~ RCE T0 ~ KW V1. There may be slight variances between the models, but they are relatively similar in driving quality. They are strictly DD coilovers that do a relatively good job for their intended application.

Flex Z, the derivative of the Street Flex, is very good. Street Flex was extremely compliant on the street and relatively good at the track (maybe 2-3 clicks of rebound away after the max setting from being fairly competitive on track). I think the you guys will be extremely impressed at how much better they are compared to their competition. That may sound like a very prideful statement, but man, they're pretty good.

they're available for retail in japan. if you have someone there buy it and ship it to you, you can get it before it comes here to the states. there are a few pretty cool and helpful forum members overseas that might be able to help too...

I'm have been riding on Fortune Auto 500's for about a year now and don't have any complaints thus far except a little harsh ride quality. I have only been to one track day on them in the almost 20k miles I've had them. I mainly DD on the highway and spirited on/off ramp, and canyon runs. I'm understanding that these are twin tube as opposed to mono. Realistically that only makes a difference if you are pushing them hard and want consistent performance when temps rise if and they are slightly more responsive if I'm correct. (I'm talking about coilovers in the sub $1500 category).
How would these compare to my FA 500's. Just thinking about running these in the near future if there is a chance I might be happier.

Reading more about these and the harder the wait becomes :/ The Flex A looks like it'll be perfect for daily driving with the hydraulic bump stop. Would the Flex A retain all the characteristics of the Flex Z and then some?
