I think they should all be producing hover cars that teleport you instantly from location to location but the tech and infrastructure are just not there yet for them either.

Teleportation, that's the shit dude. Go for a quick sunrise bike ride before work somewhere like the south Pacific then ski a nice long powder run somewhere on the planet during lunch break and then some funky tropical drink in a hammock on some deserted beach after work. You can work wherever you need to and live wherever you want to. It would make it tough to hide from the wife though

Id rather drive there.... but at 300mph

I'm sure it'll use garbage as fuel though!

There's a girl around here who autocrosses and tracks a Yaris. It has non-standard rubber on it, not sure about other mods.

When I had mine, I rebadged it to the Vios.

We do have the Yaris sedan here, but not in that form. It's the Scion iA, or come after August, Toyota Yaris iA. It's been the Yaris sedan in Canada, and the Yaris R in Mexico.

Mum has a Yaris 4 door 1.3 auto. For its intended use I think it is a great little car. It has taken the 3 of us (mum, wife,me) on longish trips with the only proviso I have to "manually" change down before a hill otherwise it drops too much speed before dropping down a gear or two. I much prefer taking the Yaris to Sydney over my car because it is so much smaller. I once squeezed through between two buses and watched in the review mirror someone try to follow me. He lost the wing mirror on one side lols.

Like in the video, 2nd gear is best gear. 3rd and 4th are both ridiculously tall OD gears.

I had a 2008 Yaris hatchback, and then shared a 2009 sedan with my mom.

Imagine if some took the Celica GTS motor and put it the Yaris....that would be a sweet sleeper.

I've actually wanted to do a built 1NZ with supercharger in an MR2, but decided that would be way too much money and effort since it would require a transmission rebuild to get a C52 bellhousing onto a C60 transmission, and a standalone ECU to get it to rev higher. The smaller Toyota motors are absurdly lightweight for their displacement; a bored out 1NZ would weigh in at around 120lbs/L displacement, while motorcycle engines are like 100lbs/L, but motorcycle engines have mini generators that can't keep the lights on at idle and no A/C.

2ZZ is fully possible (and has been done before), but a lot more expensive, and no where as close as plug in and play as the 1ZZ in a Yaris.

Also, just like Tom said, circumstances made the 1ZZ a better choice. It is/was his daily driver too, so he could not have as much down time as if he were to do a 2ZZ swap.

I also have another friend who did this swap into his liftback.
