Asia Owners help!

Hi guys,

I just went to visit the Subaru dealer in Neihu, Taiwan, to see the self-folding side mirrors in action, and to see how much this upgrade would cost.. but the story I hear is that the dealer listed this item as whole assembly, rather than the motor itself as an item that we can order alone.. I couldn't get a price due to no support in the maintenance department on Sundays, so im waiting for a quote tomorrow. Any of you Asia owners want to get rid of yours (to lighten the weight for track/racing) ?? haha, wishful thinking I know, and it's a totally useless upgrade for us in the US, but I always wanted them... along with the headlight washer lol.
Here's the video of it in action, along with the button inside the door panel that controls them.

Anyone know what model is the motor and how to source just that?

Any help to point me to the right direction is greatly appreciated!

Also,
The Tail lights have a clear piece on the side rather than the red piece for the US model as well, anyone want to trade that with me!?

might as well as ask them to swap the right hand drive as well

but you know swapping out those side mirrors mean more than just pull out and go? It'll take some work. especially on our US models.

Those taillights will be illegal in the US because it does not conform to our laws. That's why we have the reflectors on ours.

Not just reflectors, either. USDOT states that there MUST be an indicator light visible on the left and right side rear of the vehicle when changing lanes. This is why the US gets some ugly ass tail lights. My JDM BuddyClub lights barely pass because there's enough light-seepage going on that you can see them flash from the sides.

Also, correct on the point of the mirrors being a pain. You do have to wire a switch for it, you also have to pull your door skin and your lower dash trim under the steering wheel to splice the motors in for the open\close function. Not a fun project.

Don't need this option, but I kinda want it to protect my mirrors from the commie hipster cyclists in Boston, lol

If you really want to just fold in the mirrors by hand.

Auto folding mirror is nice in Asia cuz there is not enough space. Where as in US ppl don't need it much cuz even the parking lot are all truck sizeed. lol I still remember how the streets by my home will get double parked turning a prefect 2line traffic into 1line....lol

Just order aftermarket tail lights if you don't like the tails. Someone like @pansontw supplies them

For the side mirrors I'll just keep them as is. Folding in your mirrors might come in handy

The taillight is barely noticeable, and cops in my area hasn't giving me any crap even with all my lights were converted into white leds (except taillight)
I kept my Brz clean so that's probably another reason.
Yea I'm aware I would need to do some wiring for the mirrors, but I already wired the led mirrors, so it can't be much harder.
I'll have it set up where it just folds when I shut off the car and open when I start the engine.

And the first time you use it and get the whole front and top of the car dirty with splattered fluid you won't want to use them again. I disabled the washers on my TT years ago.
