Overall I am pleased that the shop managed to get it right on the second time. I can hardly tell the difference, if I squint really hard I might be able to convince myself that it only matches 95%, but I am happy!

I spoke with the assesors on the phone and they admitted to the mistake. They said they had to call up Toyota because they couldn't get it right, then after speaking to Toyota they were able to get a match. They also fixed the holes that they drilled and I couldn't have guessed they drilled it in the first place.

I can ACTUALLY see the pearl in the paint now, and there is no noticeable orange peeling going around.

I'm glad the shop was able to admit their mistakes, go the extra mile to seek help when needed, and fix their mistake. If anyone is wondering the shop is Car Star 401 on Argentia and Mississauga.

Off topic but its extremely unsettling seeing those trucks on the highway and having to pass them, you have to break through a wall of rock salt and it makes unnerving pinging all over the car and glass making you think something is about to explode.

Yep that looks better now. I'd be happy with that.

You got it! So far I haven't found any chips or marks from it so even though the sound is cringe worthy it doesn't seem to be causing any issues.

Seeing yours fixed makes me really want to take mine in and try and get it fixed.. Do you guys know if there is a time limit on paint work for having it fixed? The paint itself came with a warranty from them but that is for defects in the paint I believe. Idk if color matching would fit in there :/

Time limit is probably as soon as you said "OK good enough".
If a big difference you could always take it back and say it faded or something though.

You can try to argue that the time has weathered away at the bumper causing noticeable differences in colour.

They probably know they did a shit job so if they own up to it, you could get it painted. Also, if they take it back ask them to call up Toyota for advice. Goodluck!!!
