It would help us a little bit if you shared the prices of these cars.
Honestly, even though the blue one is from someone who worked at the dealership, that still doesn't mean it wasn't beat. Letting us know the prices of these cars will inform is of your budget. Here's what I suggest: Although you stated that money could be a little tight, adding a few thousand to a loan isn't that awful. I would work with the best dealership in the area to ship you a car from another dealership that might have 2014s or 2015s in stock. Unless you got a smoking deal on the blue one, I would definitely wait. |

Why does it have to be this WRB one? 27k miles on one, 75 miles on the other.. the only difference being paint (we aren't counting the extras that come with the WRB- that shouldn't have much sway at all when such a high mileage is attached to the platform). Same cost. Lower APR, yea, sure, but the principal is what matters. Dtrop hit the nail on the head- no guarantee this 27k one wasn't beat on... I'd say be patient and vigilant, and you'll find a new WRB for the black price.

Just wait. More will be available in the color you want, and not 7 stupid hours away.

I'd either jump on WRB if you really wanted it now... or wait for another one.
I wouldn't settle for less.

Black and Blue are my two favorite colors for the twins. Lots of black available in my area, but not so many blue ones.

I say wait for a new WRB one. Try to do a lot of research so that you can find the one you want.

+1 on waiting.
If you need to buy soon, push hard for a better price on the blue one. It's supposedly a buyer's market for these cars, so use that to your advantage.

Definitely don't get the black one.
Wait for a better WRB, if you're willing to drive 14+ hours that means you have access to Los Angeles (only around 9 hours drive), I found 24 WRB BRZ's searching cars.com: http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchr...=GN_REFINEMENT Your budget obviously plays a huge factor, if you've got a $20k ceiling then maybe those two cars are the best you're going to see for a month or two. |

75 test drive miles are probably harder on the car then the 29,000 commuter miles :P

Any major city is going to be a minimum of about a 4 hour drive from me. I don't have many options. :/ The price the WRB one was offered to me for was $23k out the door. I haven't really seen many changes from 2013/2015 to justify the price difference if I can get a 2013 that's well taken care of, unless someone can correct me? As far as I know, the only real differences are: Aha Audio Shark fin antenna Larger tailpipes Carbon fiber center console trim (Which the one I'm looking at already has had modified) Better suspension Last edited by Zoh; 01-02-2015 at 03:07 PM. |

On your average economy car you're basically guaranteed no issues in the first 30,000 miles, after that is when little things (and big ones) start popping up, as much as I hate to say it I wouldn't touch a Toyobaru with 30,000+ miles for more than $20k, it could be one Sunday drive away from leaving me stranded with a clutch in many pieces after all. A guy who went through the trouble of putting shiny wheels and wrapping the dash didn't just gently commute on it, I guarantee it's been bounced off the revlimiter a few times and in my opinion, that's just fine, you will likely do the same with no issue, but I'd want a bigger discount than what that dealer is currently offering. Of course if that's the car you want and you come home with a smile on your face and sleep easy then it was the right decision. ![]() Edit: http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...7601/overview/ 12 hour drive instead of 14, 7,000 fewer miles on it, $2,000 cheaper, dealer buyback due to the chirping fuel pump, if they can provide all the documentation on it you'll save yourself 2 hours and $2,000. |

+1 on waiting. Find one that is untouched, I don't care if the guy works at the dealership, it probably has been beaten on to some degree. Plus, I personally would not buy a car with any modifications, even if they are only interior/cosmetic.

Don't buy from a dealer then. Or talk to that guy who specializes in shipping cars out. Huringer or something. Can't remember the name.
https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/sear...oMakeModel=brz The changes between years are pretty insignificant. I LIKE the FR-S suspension, tail happy as it is. It really teaches you how to pay attention while having fun. BRZ's suspension is even less different, AFAIK. Supposedly all the BRZ headunits are a pain in the ass anyway. If you really want a good stereo, you have to go aftermarket. It's not like that dealer is going to give you good service no matter what, so fuck 'em. Quote:

Go with the color you want! I had to decide between an AT or MT when buying my Monogram FR-S. The AT had the color I wanted, the MT was in white. I wanted a MT in asphalt. I ended up going with the color and am pretty happy with my choice. Also, for what it's worth, whenever I tell people the choice I had to make, they all say "it's a nice color." I'm sure you'll get the response when telling your story if you go with the blue. It's a sweet color. At the end of the day this whole decision seems like it's about the color, all else pretty much ends up the same in the long run, warranty will eventually be gone, you'll have a bunch of miles on the car, but the color of what's in your garage (or parking spot) will be the same.
Just my thought. Either way, it'll be one fun car to drive around! |
