In my experience it's almost always a lifted pickup.

It sucks, like was mentioned above, when for whatever reason you had to park goofy, other cars all the way to one side etc, and then the irritant is taken care of your car is left there inexplicably parked weird making you look like th asshole.

Also, you park way out in the parking lot, nobody there, but when you come out, there is a cluster of cars parked AROUND your car way out in the empty part of the lot. WTF? It's like capillary action or something.

I never used to care about the appearance of my cars. It's weird having to come to terms with that in my advanced age. That's why I haven't fixed my door ding. Just trying to keep that zen approach - not letting it own me.

...but it's so goddamn pretty!

Just go to one of those paintless dent repair places, it's usually pretty cheap.

My wife has been hounding me about it too. I should do it so she feels better. Same thing goes for my peeling steering wheel.

(In most places its illegal on a public street/lot but not in a commercial privately owned parking lot).

There are lots where the lines are so narrow I can't park my Suburban without being in some portion of two spots (or even three if I perfectly center it). Obviously not a problem with the FR-S. That's why I always park in an end spot with any of my cars unless there is absolutely nothing else available.

Actually, since it does wash right off, it indeed is NOT vandalism legally. Cop would laugh at you. Also, private property parking is a gray area in many states, but property owners can get police and towing involved.

Yes, I agree the police may not take action but just because it washes off does not mean it isn't vandalism, its also a gray area. For example, tagging someone's house with water soluble paint that can be removed after some effort would still be considered vandalism I believe (or egging a property where there is the potential for damage). The cops may have more of a concern with the perceived intent to incite a negative reaction should he have been caught in the act.

As far as private property, my understanding is that there would have to be specific postings indicating you can only use one space, etc before the owner of the property could tow the car. In any case, it is the owner or the owner's agent, and not a random "enforcer" that could take action.

All that said, the OP was hysterical and done with good humor (I would think it was funny if done to me). The video is still just a self-absorbed jackass that deserves a beat-down if caught in the act of what appears to be a malicious act, regardless of the legal aspects of it. I wonder how funny he would think he was being when I confronted him with my .38 before I knew he was "just joking around"?
