You had better not fade out of this forum when you get it. I want to hear all about it.

Twenty, twenty, twenty-four hours to go-o-o.
I wanna Pantera. Nothing to drive, nowhere to go-o-o. I want a Pantera.

I knew a guy who campaigned a Pantera in the Silver State Classic. I think the car was in the 140 or 145mph class.

Be prepared to upgrade your cooling system. Panteras are notorious for overheating with the V8 in the back.

This car has been raced since the 90's, so I'm assuming the cooling issues have been dealt with. The owner mentioned he never even needed to turn the fans on.
Needless to say, I'll be going through every little thing on this car once it's in my possession. Fluid change throughout for sure, gearbox is supposed to be fine and I want to keep it that way. ZF gearboxes are big $$$$. The car also has a FOMOCO Nascar engine in it, which I'll also want to keep in the best of shape. I'll be doing a thorough PPI including compression test. |

I'm partial to the older models. The GT4 and GT5 models with the big front air dams are not my favorites. I really like the pointy front end on the first versions.
It's such a cool car, I don't think there's another car in existence that has been modified in so many different ways. Literally almost every one is modded and in some custom way that sets it apart from other panteras. |

Do you prefer the small bumper '71 & '72? That would be my preference.

Yes, I like the "pre-L" versions, I think they're called, the ones with just the little chrome bumper-ettes. Not partial to the big rubber pointy bumper.
The blue race car that I'm looking at getting is the style I prefer. |
