Hi, I'm not trying to stir up the demand too much as I can't stand when companies do this (and have no product to sell) so I'm just metering out information a little at a time. I waiting on some new code for the EMS and just working on the basics of tuning. Many take for granted that when they get a stand-alone from us with a tuned map that I have to tune it from ground zero...not tuning from a stock map
![]() We are running 100% stand-alone since the CAN system in the Hydra has been developed. Basically you just unplug the OEM ecu, plug Hydra harness in, and then the Hydra EMS itself. Currently we are also using the OEM MAP sensor so you don't even have to run a vacuum line to the Hydra itself. For emissions the OEM ecu will have to be in the loop somehow and if the car is highly modified the OEM ecu will need to be flashed. If you're just doing basic mods (headers, exhaust, e85/race fuel) the Hydra can be unplugged and the OEM ecu plugged in for emissions (switching to regular gas of course). Unlike reflashing the OEM ecu this really leaves no trace. Someone who really wants to see if your OEM ecu has been tampered with can tell if it's been flashed. If at some point a customer wants a parallel system because they are super heavily modified and still need to get through emissions we can do that also. My suggestion is to run it 100% stand-alone and just buy the parallel harness from us for emissions time. This way you don't need to put stock injectors back in etc. once a year or every two years. I actually have some more tuning to do now but I'm resisting since it's 1 million degrees outside and my car is black. LOL! |

What we can do now and offer is truly amazing but time is money so we want to offer a solid package at a great price so most can afford it. It's easy to offer the world at $4000 but trying to offer everything under $2000 is the tough part. We'll then sell upgraded features/functionality as add-ons so you can get in at a great price and should later on you want Flex Fuel sensor support or you need a race track inspired electronic steering adjustment, like I do For the NA guys we may even be able to get that OEM front 02 sensor working saving even more money. For you autocrossers and drag racers I've got Launch Control built in! |

Ok guys I've spent a number of hours tuning and just testing really but last night I actually drove the FRS for a few hours with the Hydra EMS in full stand-alone. I can smooth out that torque dip but until i put it on the dyno its hard to say what I'm giving up or where I'm gaining. The reason the oem mapp goes so rich at high rpm is because this engine wants to detonate at 6k rpm and up.
We definitely need a car in the San Francisco Bay area the weekend of the 21st or the 28th so we can log more CAN stuff regarding the AC and other. Almost all is being loged on the oem ecu and then if we do need to plug the Hydra in we can just reach under the dash and plug it in so no trace of the testing. |

You don't settle when going for track records and wins!
Element Tuning custom valved BC-BR coilovers for FRS-BRZ shipped Next Day Air from BC factory in Taiwan.
![]() A huge thank you to Pete at BC North America for making quick work of this so we can race the Ultimate Track Car Challenge this week. Custom made CarboTech XP-12 rear brake pads for FRS-BRZ ![]() These should match up with with our front Brembo kit running Hawk DTC 70 race pads. We had the suspension valved to handle a wide range of spring rates so I'm not sure what race setup we will settle on when running racing slicks. Thanks, Phil Grabow |

Being a tuner (evos,STI's, and wrxs) this really excites me. I want to be able to dive into my ecu and start learning the brz! Keep us updated, would love to be able to utilize the obdII instead of 2nd unit or stand alone. Any chance of our current ecu being able to handle tuning like the evos?

We need a car in the San Francisco Bay area this weekend or next for some CAN bus logging for the Hydra EMS. If you're interested in helping and want money or a discount on a Hydra please contact me.
Nothing invasive will be done to your car, just logging, and plugging a Hydra EMS in. |

I would say Swift Racing Technologies full cat back exhaust would be nice to see on your car (cause that is what I ordered) haha. Plus the guys over at SRT seem so legit and honest, would be nice to see their work featured on more cars
