Thanks for the video.

I noticed that you are doing very well on the turns.. but when it comes to the straight aways you just get smoked, As presented by the MR & Z06 & the camaro @ the end? That's just the power difference I suppose..

Yeah those cars pull what seems like 1/2 the front straight on me but by the 3rd turn I'm back on their tails. This car is all about the handling and it's amazing how much time this car can pull on the corners and it's not like I'm comparing this to a stock car, these are modified track day cars on race tires.

Can wait to even get 35-40 whp more once we get the Hyrda EMS in there. I would like to get some NA parts from with sponsorships so I can at least map the most common NA modifications on the Hydra EMS before we go turbo.

Who's NA intake and exhaust would you like to see on Element Tuning's FRS?

Yeah, I could feel that you were taking those corners are super high speeds as opposed to the vette for example. The handling is defenitely there!

And those I/E are up to you :P

You are helluva driver and the car looks stable&fast! Congrats. So, those other car's were also modified? I'm surprised how well the FR-S did in the track..

Yeah all the cars you don't expect me to hang with were modified and all on Hoosiers (Z06, GTR, and CTS-V I looked I mean the GT1 car wasn't pulling much as far as corner entry or mid corner. Pulled hard at corner exit though.

I don't think the driving talent was necessarily even so let's just say I was fully maximizing what I had and not so sure the others were. For me it was easy to hang it out as I ran a 1:26.0 last year at 500 HP but just never got a chance to run it full bore. Keep in mind that GT1 car only ran a 1:27xx and the Ferrari Challenge car the same. Here's last year's run in my STi which ran the same tires as my FRS

Not sure on intakes yet (havent seen too many NA power adders as of yet ) But the Auto Factory Exhaust on the exhaust sticky page http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6064 looks and sounds pretty sweet, not too sure of the power gains though. Looks like its a whole engine back setup too.

Hydra EMS CAN Reverse Engineering and base dyno

The Gurus at Hydra EMS sniffing CAN data for Hydra EMS implementation. The CAN system is very extensive on the FRS/BRZ but they've cracked everything they need for the CAN integration into the Hydra EMS

Let the wiring begin! Stand-alone EMS integration these days if very involved for plug and play systems. Full CAN integration is the only way to go. We've already found mistakes in a few of the wiring schematics (not uncommon in the early stages).

And you thought your stereo wiring was tough. Luckily Hydra EMS is plug and play.

Here is a baseline dyno (OEM ECU) we did while dumping CAN data. This was done with 18x9.5 wheels. Dyno operator at ISP mentioned his dyno reads low. Not concerned at the point as I will most likely be doing my work on a Mustang dyno and will baseline again.

The Element Hydra EMS is in our FRS so stay tuned!

So far it's idling really well and I just drove it a little around the shop. The major CAN stuff, vehicle speed signals, electronic steering, tachometer, speedometer, coolant temps, and the DBW throttle, etc. we've dialed in. We still have a couple dash lights we need to remove and could have that done today.

I was told we are capable of manipulatin the electric power steering to possibly cure the steering issue I've had on track with race tires Not sure if this will be just for me or we'll add those tweaks into the standard Hydra EMS.

We may need a car in the San Francisco bay area so if you are interested in getting a Hydra EMS and helping us out a discount awaits you. Please contact me.

We didn't get to finish getting one of the dash lights out before I had to get the Hydra guys off to the airport but we logged what we needed. I should know later this week when we need the car and for how long but probably just a couple hours at this point.

Phil, how is the Hydra coming? Is this going to be a PNP parallel standalone, basically? Is it able to pass a plug-in emissions scan?

The preliminary information on one of the flash systems is not looking like it will be something that interests me due to the restrictions on who can tune it and the corresponding high prices for a non-dyno email tune.

More info on the Hydra's capabilities and your progress would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
