Holy Kaw!

That's some pretty serious company for a stock, sub $30k car on Hoosiers to be living with. Nice driving too.

I had a similar power steering issue on my MKV Golf R32 whenever I tracked it with R888s on it. All steering assist would just vanish out of nowhere near the end of sessions. Still had control but yesss...literally required two hands to turn the wheel in those cases. Not fun.

I'm hoping that it isn't an incurable or recurrent problem with the FR-S/BRZ, given that it's supposed to be a track-oriented car and especially given how tempting you've just made it to go and stick some big R comps on.

Here's the video on day two when I was pushing harder to break into the 1:39s but the track was just too hot and my tires too wasted. I chase a Ferrari 458 Challenge for about 1 second (LOL) and pass a CTS-V track car on my way to spinning out.

Oh wow in maryland.

why did you go for 18's and not 17's as 17's have more weight advantage?

It's quite impressive that you can keep up with these guys through the turns. Too bad it's too slow to keep up in the straights. Great driving!

I know. They won't know what hit them when we start running suspension and downforce! The DF will have to wait until we have more power though.

And yet another set of wheels. I really like how this looks. My street setup prior was the 18x8.5 SSR (may have said they were 8 but they are 8.5). These were off my Legacy GT and I wanted to fit them so I could hone in better on my final wheel diameter, width and offset.

These wheels are Rota T2R 18x9.5 ET38 with Goodyear GT something in a 225/45-18. They are taller in diameter because the LGT has really large wheel arches and it fills them in better. Since this car isn't lowered yet these do the same thing here. For the front to fit a 5mm spacer was needed (there was maybe .5mm clearance without).

Loving how this looks!

Was thinking about Rotas but I want to drive at least a little in the city and don't want them destroyed. Thinking about RPF1's and some Z1 Star Specs.

We run Rota on the race car and while about 2 pound heavier than the Volk Prodrives I used to run they are up to the task. For the price, a good quality wheel but choose ones that have lots of spokes as they will be stronger so think T2R or DPT. Now they are not as strong as the Volks I had, but I have taken some serious 120+ mph curbs and offs while racing and they stayed true. I finally tweaked one when I hit and embankment and flipped. They are of similar strength to Enkie which isn't forged either but both a good options.

I do think if anyone is staying NA then the lightest overall combo you can get that fits your budget will be the right choice. Don't forget to check tire weights also as they vary by a large margin.

Dunlop Star Specs are really good also as I raced with those on our "Street" class WRX.
