I never saw the reviews on the shop a guy I used to work with started working for the shop. I knew that and took it there based on that fact. I didn't see the reviews because I guess I am stupid but when I consider someone a friend I don't expect them to screw me over. This is someone I used to manage at a shop a long time ago. Either way I don't feel anything is "my fault" that they damaged my car considering I didn't know the reputation of them since I haven't lived in the Atlanta area for well over 7 years now. The lawyer sent me the reviews after I went to him and he looked into the place.

What does this have to do with FR-S/BRZ?

Nothing.

They where set to do a engine swap in my FRS after this car got done. I wanted to make sure people would know that this place screws up cars as there are plenty of people in the Atlanta area with FRS's and wanted to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else.

So...you spent no time researching a shop you had planned to have install 40k in parts on a near brand new car? Much less a shop that quoted 7k in labor to install 40k in parts already sounds fishy.

Maybe it's just because I'm young and broke...but I at least throw a Google search for ANY purchase over 100 dollars.

You live in another country. 99% of the other people that read this useless thread aren't even going to be local to Atlanta.

All starting a crying whiny thread does is hurt a ruling in your favor in court.

Maybe I am old but if I trust someone, consider them a friend and worked with them in the past I don't feel the needed to Google search someone. The guy that was working there with the owner was someone I personally hired at a shop a couple years ago. He had a good head on his shoulders but clearly that has changed. Though the days of trusting people and deals with a hand shake are gone I guess so that is a lesson I have learned.

Guess I am stupid thinking people should care about there work, reputation and customers. Even more so when I was going to share my booth at NOPI with them and wasn't charging them! The quote was right the shop fixing it now would have been around the same price had they not had to fix a bunch of problems.

He's just giving this community a heads up. No need to be a prick about it.

Thanks for understanding guess this forum is not like others I belong to. Most of them are glad to hear about things like this to prevent this from happening to them. First time I have been told it is partly my fault that they messed up my car is on this thread. Would love to see what happens if they take there car to a "good shop" and the same things happens to them because I promise they won't be saying "hey my car got messed up but it's partly my fault because I took it to them". Places can have the best reviews in the world and still screw stuff up it happens I know plenty of places that have all positive reviews but have done so pretty screwed up stuff to cars even one that caught a car on fire. I based my choice to go there on someone I thought was a friend because I figured he would make sure it was done right.

totally on your side OP and you definitely should get a lawyer involved, but i would delete this thread and others to avoid a libel claim against you; would just make the process longer and more expensive for you.
