Replace the Analog speedo...an ideas thread

In my OBD II gauge thread multiple times people have brought up the idea of what one could put in that often ignored space where the analog speedometer goes. So, I figured I'd start a thread with questions to get the discussion going. Maybe something will come of it, maybe not:

-What would you put there if you could put one gauge in its place? What about two (mirroring the layout of the water temp and fuel gauge on the other side)? I'd be interested in oil temp and probably oil pressure.
-What does a gauge cluster cost (about $200 according to ebay)?
-How would one modify the cluster to look good? The amber (or white) lighting is already in the correct spot.
-How could you screenprint/laser etch/fab the piece you are replacing? I was thinking laser etching would be the easiest to order. Replicating that texture would be a pain in the rear on the FRS. On the BRZ it might be easier.

So, lets hear your thoughts, photoshops, etc.

Info gleaned from here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58207

There should be enough room for multiple small stepper motors in there.

The gauge faces are one large plastic sheet. So you'd want to replicate them plus the modifications on the left side. This would require some precision to get correct, but there are methods for doing this.
