OEM audio plus 400CF review
![]() The reason Not long ago, I was in a position to where I wanted to upgrade the audio in my car. Reason? Well with the current exhaust setup such as an Ark GRiP exhaust, motiv op, motiv fp, HKS header, and vortech at 12psi, music is pretty difficult to be heard. Mind you, I even have helmholtz canisters from the Ark and a custom one put on the FP. Those did help eliminate drone as well as rasp, but still, music was difficult to hear while cruising. So I went to a few stereo shops to discuss as well as obtain quotes for a possible custom setup and quite honestly, I was disappointed with their ideas as well as price. Let's just say that price was well over the 2,000 range to obtain the type of sound I wanted which wasn't much. All I wanted was some thump and a very well balanced type of system that would be heard over my exhaust. Customer Service After the quotes, I decided to get a hold of someone at OEM audio. I got in touch with Daniel and I must say that he has been the most helpful person. He was able to answer my questions thoroughly and provided me honest feedback about their product. After many talks with Daniel @oemaudioplus and even a lengthy phone call to his personal number, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the 400CF setup. Why the CF? Well from what Daniel had explained to me about the differences between the speakers with the CF option and non CF option, it seemed like the sound I wanted as well as the quality would be in the CF option. Daniel did even mention to buy the non CF option first and to see how I liked the sound, but with his knowledge of the product and pros, I couldn’t resist. I ordered the 400CF setup along with the cutout for the sub enclosure due to my Cusco strut tower bar in the trunk. Amazingly, Daniel was able to provide me steps as well as pictures along the way to show me what was happening with the product. After the product was finished, Daniel arranged for me to pick it up near their office since my work is literally about two minutes away. Since he was out of town, he was able to coordinate with Sandy and his brother as to when I could swing by and pick up the package. As for Sandy, he is an awesome guy and it's truly amazing to see his passion and his pride behind his work. He also unpacked the box for me and put the goods in my car for me and gave me some pointers and stood behind his product by telling me that if there are any issues, give them a call and things can be taken immediately. Daniel & Sandy : A+++++ The Product ![]() Very well packaged when I initially received the product and when Sandy opened up the boxes, things were very well packed. I can tell they are concerned about their products being in perfect condition when their customers receive it. I was very impressed. Furthermore, the instructions as well as components were wrapped very neatly and professionally. Again, blown away by their packaging methods. Install The install two about 2 hours of my time with my tools from my shop that I work at. I do have knowledge of disassembling interior pieces since I have been turning a wrench for years. The instructions were very detailed and so thorough that it would be extremely hard to mess something up. The enclosure fit perfectly and the wires were perfect in terms of length. I couldn't believe how easy the install was and how well thought through the product was in terms of fitment and directions. Not comfortable with wiring? Don't you worry, it's only two wires that need to be crimped and on one end, the wires already have connectors on one end. Literally a 2 minute wiring job that is very basic that anyone can do. Matter of fact, this is such an easy install I wouldn't recommend having someone install this if you are remotely inclined on how to work on a car. ![]() ![]() The sound WOW! The sound is absolutely mind blowing! I thought the stock system was good, but wow, the oem audio plus 400cf is just amazing! My buddy has a 3000 system in his lexus ls and I have to admit, the 400cf is just as good or even better! The bass is dead on perfect and the mids and highs are beautiful! I couldn't ask for more with this system. I did the recommended settings and wow is all I can say. I did make some tweaks to the EQ such as raising the treble and that's it. I wish I could have taken a video of what my reaction was when first playing some music. My girlfriend basically saw me just sink into my seat while my eyes opened up really wide due to the amazing quality of sound! In terms of the exhaust and the 400CF, I can hear my music now over my exhaust and I can feel the bass through my cusco bride carbon seat. Mind you, the volume is only at about 24-28 and it's hitting hard. I am even more impressed on how it sounds with my sebon rear seat delete. All in all, WOW! Overall -Most amazing system I have ever heard! -Super sleek look sub enclosure and can be removed it needed -Superb customer service via Sandy and Daniel. Thanks dudes! -Easy installation. 2 hours first time -Detailed instructions -Perfect fitment Last edited by ft86me; 04-03-2017 at 08:19 PM. |

Nice write-up! My 400CF system should be here today, along with my 4000NEX head unit. I've already got all the adapters for the HU, so hopefully I can get everything installed tonight. ft86me, did you do any sound deadening?
